That's fair enough, hopefully the other monsters fill out the mechanical enemy diversity. I've just been noticing the vast majority of the unique monsters are small and cute, which would suggest a limitation in terms of being interesting to fight. The rock-crab (the wall crawling one) is a great example of interesting behaviors and battle tactics.

you could make flight time a variable where better birds can fly long amounts of time with out needing to land. It would be like an energy bar for the birds flying tech.
For some reason I just imagine there will be a massive boss version of the Bobfae where the creature just try to fly away from you but got tired so it drop down from above and crush you with its massive weight. An optional boss that you would feel bad about killing.
