We could still connect - we just need your external IP. If your friend could connect, he was probably on a device behind your router too (or, on something like a VPN - say hamachi).

Easiest way is to just type 'IP' into google.

Did you forward the port and check that it's reachable? That's probably the problem.

Two cases
a) you didn't port forward correctly
or
b) firewalls and antivirus and shiz

if a) - do it right?
if b) - turn that shit off (or make firewall exceptions etc.)

portforward.com has a nice tool that lets you see if a port is reachable on your machine.
