Gee, now my manager is drinking some ale while updating the records. Bright future, eh?

I've been killed seven times in a row by zombies.
No matter how many traps I put up they always break through.
The worst part is that many of the zombies are former dwarves, so they can just walk past all my traps.

Heh, I've yet to get to the military part. Looking forward to it, though.

It is pretty hard to get there. How do you usually die?

I usually get frustrated and stop, or one of my miners get stuck down below.

I've gone farther this time then ever before, though, so I have high hopes.

How do your miners get stuck below?
That has never happened to me, only zombies kill me.

I forgot there were stairs and I channeled below until a miner had no way up. And they were too busy dumping to help build stairs, so I just gave up on it XD

well the death of 1 dwarf doesn't mean the end of the game.
Even if you lose the copper pick, you can trade for/buy one from a trading caravan, if you've built a trade depot.

I'm too lazy to wait for the trade caravan XD

Anyway my current fort is my best so far.
Got a river for water, a great layout to the fort, more farms than I have seeds to plant, 4 stills brewing wine, 2 carpenters to make barrels for the wine, enormous storage space, a trade depot, a graveyard, various other workshops, mined out bedrooms waiting for furniture, and an enormous amount of normal/semiprecious stone.
