Who's throwing rocks at Linus' Tent?

If you talk to that pathetic bum enough he claims that at night somebody was throwing rocks at his tent. Now who in Pelican town would do this? The whole town is filled with socialist slackers who expect hand outs from me all day every day so they probably don't have a problem with his lifestyle. I certainly don't see any of them throwing rocks at a bums tent. My only guesses are Kent, who due to his PTSD has psychotic breaks where he thinks he's back in the Gotoro Empire and mistakes the tent for an enemy outpost. Or it could be Pierre, who is overcome with rage every time he sees a tent because he knows his wife and the wizard banged in one to conceive Abigail. My last pick is Morris who is doing it as an act of charity. He hopes the attack will convince Linus to stop being a bum and actually make something of his life and become a contributing member of society. Possibly by becoming a doorman at Joja mart. I hear Joja likes to hire senior citizens for that position. Thoughts?

 

Why would you say that Abigail is the wizard's daughter? Do you know that her natural hair isn't purple/violet right?... Anyway, i'd like to know who's throwing rocks too >.>...

 

This brings up a very good point. Given there are only some 20 people in town, stuff like this could get very awkward very fast.

Like when Alex asked me if chick's digged his hair. I was like which chick? Which of the 5 single ladies in town?

Unless he wasn't excluding the married ladies. In which case Robin is mine you stay away from her I'm going to wreck that home like a hurricane and pick up the scraps ehem sorry getting a little derailed here.

Now that you mention it, this DOES sound like the kind of thing Morris would consider an "act of charity." Then again, it also sounds like the kind of thing Pam might do in a drunken rage.

My money is on Morris, though.

 

My guess is it's either Sebastian or Sam, or both. Sebastian sometimes throws stuff at the mountain, maybe he misses and hits the tent sometimes or something. And Sam is known in town as a mischievous rascal. Only thing is, I don't think he's mean-spirited about his shenanigans, so I don't think he would throw rocks at somebody's tent, but who knows.

 

I forgot about drunk Pam. I could definitely see this.

 

There's various in game dialogue that hints at it. Also, Abigail said when she died her hair purple, it never turned back.

 

Yeah, I can kinda see Sebastian hitting it by accident and then being too embarrassed/shy to apologize, now that you mention it. I don't think it's the kind of thing Sam would do, though. He's much more the good-natured prankster type.

 

My money wouldbe on Sam and Alex personally. Sam leads on community service hours and is the perfect accomplice. Alex is getting payback for Linus digging through his grandpa's garbage at night.

 

I always figured it was the wandering Joja employees that roam the forests and wait for me to pass out so they can drag me home and steal my money.

 

LMAO! I personally headcanon that the "anonymous Joja employee" in those letters is either Shane or Sam, because I can see Morris profiting gleefully off his employees' goodwill (and probably docking their pay into the bargain), but your interpretation would work too!

 

Oh, I always thought it was Sam and Sebastian. Drink a bit too much, wander around, take out their daddy issues on whatever they can. Sometimes that just includes throwing rocks at Linus' tent, what're you gonna do, boys will be boys. (I am 10,000% kidding and wish I could hide out with Linus until they came back to throw more rocks and beat the snot out of them. Or whoever it is throwing rocks.)

I really like OP's idea of Morris doing it though. I could totally see that happening.

 

I assumed it was people from out of town, such as the tourists who show up for the Fair. Although, drunken Pam has to be my favorite theory.

 

Oh, I never saw that dialogue. Maybe it's because I never paid too much atention to her, though I think she's interesting... Well it's good to know xD

 

The most likely suspects are tourists, and Pam.

It's hinted at by various people apparently. According to the wiki, the Wizard, Pierre and Caroline all refer to the possibility that Abigail is not Pierre's biological daughter in various ways via random dialogues.

 

Linus just believes that people are throwing rocks at him, its actually juminos jumping on his tent trying to hug him!

 

Or all the slimes I've been breeding up at the railroad tracks. ;D

 

I don't think anybody is. Linus goes on about how he isn't welcome yet not a single person in Pelican town ever has anything to say against him. He shows up to all the festivals and nobody chases him off and when he is mentioned people seem to be either friendly towards him or neutral.

On top of all this he clearly has money based on the request board and he can easily go to just about any level of the mine considering he is the one who pulls you out when you faint which would allow him an easy way to make money. Add in that he comments himself about "not being cut out for this world" and I think it's likely that Linus is just paranoid and has convinced himself that everyone is against him and as such acts like everyone is acting against him and hides away from the rest of the world.

 

I generally assume there are more people living in town than what we see in-game. I further assumed that the people throwing rocks at Linus' tent are a bunch of kids who may or may not include the kids we know and see in-game.
