What type of weapons could you see yourself using all the time?

hey. I've only been on this forum as a member for a couple of days and looking at some threads got me wondering what type of weapons would i use to process through this amazing looking game. Personally i am looking forward to melee weapons and get head on with enemies but for back up, i'd use a heavy duty rocket launcher. I just wondered what everyone else is thinking about using. (*off topic* this is my first thread).

A shotgun and a rocket launcher dual combo.

 

Pistol in one hand, sword in the other.

 

a shotgun and a lance (please include lances i love lances)

 

I would prefer meelee weapons, but if I can find a gun that fires fast and have a descent knockback, I can be persuaded to change my mind.

 

Dual pistols, pistol and sword, pistol and shield. Pretty much anything single handed I reckon.

 

A large mecha-battlesuit with which I could crush or blow up my enemies. Or, probably some kind of sword-like object.

I would much rather fight by using
axe to the face fighting style

 

I want the BFG of swords. The BIGGEST one available. Even if its just for show.

 

Lazer-edged katanas and Modified Revolvers with double tap bullets.

 

Any sort of laser gun. (Preferably rapid fire)

Maybe a small sword too. Something easy to carry around and maneuver with.

 

dual katanas. and in case of an emergency, a magnum

 

Dual shotguns. And my fists. I like close ranged.

 

A shotgun in one hand and a rifle in the other. Yet it is beyond me how you can one hand a shotgun

 

I prefer Versatility and/or Utility over offense.

Weapons that don't deal much damage, but have tons of special effects/debuffs.

Auto Turrets

Pets that do melee for you

weapons with big explosions (lol)

so yeah... I'd probably have to wait and see.

I would love to see whips, but not just any ordinary whips mind you... I'm not entirely sure why, but back when I played Runescape (which was YEARS ago), one of the weapons that had the greatest impacts on me was the abyssal whip. I never had one myself, but whenever I think of Runescape I think of the abyssal whip. Anything whips and flails related are amazing.

Speaking of all that, are either of those types of weapons confirmed to be in the game? That would be awesome.

Many people favor the shotgun.

This pleases me.

A shotgun, it's an absolute necessity when exploring the unknown. I'd also like a pretty awesome assault rifle. Not to mention a melee weapon of some kind, ammunition doesn't last forever.

 

Hopefully firearms and ranged combat will be more accessible then Terraria, I look forward to exploring planets with my very own pulse rifle.
