Did you maybe press "N"? It's the shortkey for freezing time. Pressing the "N" again, should revert it. Or press "B" to reset it.

S-Say what? There's such a functionality? I completely missed that from the OP! D'oh!

I want to request an option in the config to turn that functionality off. Too easily do I accidentally press N instead of M (apparently) and not notice time has stopped until much later

You can sort of 'fast forward' time by pressing comma (which cuts the amount of seconds to a ten minute period in half with each press) and then once you get to where you feel that you should be timewise, press b to go back to the time setting that you have stored in your config. Not the best solution, but it could act as a hold over until Cantors gets back to you on the ability to disable the freeze function.

I'd also like an option (in config.json) to disable the N-key freezing.
It makes cheating really easy, and sometimes I can't resist abusing it. So having the option would be nice.

Making the "," and "." multipliers fully customizable could be cool, too.
4 options: number of "steps" (ex. pressing ".") allowed in each direction, and the size of the steps (multiplier used) when going above/below the 1x timescale.

          For example:
"." could be configured to make time pass 0.5x normal speed with one keypress, but go no further.
(Slowed time would have been disabled if 0 "steps" were allowed in that direction instead of 1)

Then, pressing "," would take you up a step, back to 1x time. Each additional press of "," could divide the tick-length by x5, etc.

I don't know if this is the most elegant solution, but it's a try.

I think the "," / "." keys would be more intuitive if you flipped their functions.
(Slower Time (,) <--> Faster Time (.) is the behavior I'd expect, not behind-the-scenes 0.5x Tick Length <--> 2x Tick Length)

I'm sure I'm not the only person that loves the mod, but doesn't necessarily want so much power.

So, is this functional with 39.6? Anyone know?

Yay, that means I can update.

Yes, just remember. SMAPI 0.39.6 is not 100% compatible with SDV 1.07 -- During scene changes with minigames or something like that, the game crashes. It's recommended to update SMAPI to 0.40 if you got SDV 1.07

Things pretty compatible with that version of SMAPI, then?? Since my version of SDV decided to update.

Haven't tried it myself, but I see no reason it wouldn't be compatible. Why don't you try it out?

I had decided to do that after I made the post, and things seem to work just fine with 1.07 SDV and 40.0 SMAPI, as far as this mod goes.

I finally have a train pass through the valley. I guess I was just panicking because on the wiki there's a daily schedule of when the train pass lol.

I can understand the frustration, but you can actually re-bind the map key (in game options). Since you can't manually edit keybinds for this mod, I would suggest putting the map to the "Q" key or something similar, so it's a lot more easily accessible anyway and you won't accidentally hit the time freeze.

maybe someone can shed some light on this. It seems everyday in game the time freezes at random points sometimes 6am other times 10am, I do have freeze time indoors and in mines turned to true and I haven't hit N which blinks paused anyway, you can even see the time switch for a split second then revert back. Is there a fix to this at all?

As far as I am aware, pressing N doesn't make anything blink "Paused". Have you tried pressing B at those times to see if time runs normally again?

I didn't realize B was an option but once I have time stop again I'll test that, also the couple of times I pressed N to see how it paused time I was in a menu which seems to have the strange effect of blinking between pause and the time once you leave it every so often.

I've had the time freeze as mentioned - only testing I did was when entering the coop. I've only had the time freeze enabled for the mine though, so I didn't think it would be related. I'm playing with a controller, so it isn't me accidentally hitting a hotkey.

When I go to play Journey of the Prairie King, the game freezes, and the command window just repeats this over and over. I'm using SMAPI 0.39.6 and TimeSpeed V1.8.0.1.

If I remember correctly, SMAPI 39.6 (and below?) on version 1.7 of Stardew Valley causes crashes when entering minigames. You have to update to 40.0 to fix it.

I get this when I play games in the casino as well, so what Ghostly Fox says sounds like it'd be accurate.
