yah, I did a fresh install, deleted the old files. It didn't generate an XML file.

 

Also, Supernet talking about the console auto rebooting if it detects serious errors - does that include the problem where the server stops accepting connections and you get the TIME_WAIT bullshit?

 

Save the listed quoted text above as ISSMConsolePlayerList.xml make sure its in the same directory as your ISSMConsole.jar file so it knows to load the data their.

also dont forget to make sure when saving you save file as "all" in the drop down box, so that it will register the new .xml extension instead of saving it as a .txt I use notepad, notepad++ and webmatrix 3 for my editing.
Default that should have been generated, i assume its not correctly generating these files in the same directory as the .jar file. If not... list it. It has for me though so perhaps where you put it its not correctly creating something based on your own seperate configurations.

Haven't looked at his code, unsure which crippling errors he implemented outside of 3 or 4 mentioned things, if kaillera sent him the other errors before i caught wind of them then chances are most of its perfected, or will be implemented in the following update.

Alot of data i sent him via inbox in regards to the errors so chances are he's building the updated console now and it will be out shortly, thats my guess.

Leaving my server open intentionally disabled automated restarts so that the .jar can do its thing, im waiting for server crippling errors to happen so i can see how the program handles it. Testing currently on 9 separate os's.
Win7 all builds, Win8 most recent 8.1 build, win 2008 server RC2, and Win2012 recent build.

Spaming automated login scripts on a separate node to attempt to error up my servers test builds to see how it handles. All are running on separate ports to verify and test out what crashes and what doesn't. All running within a VMware environment if supported or on its own computer system.

74.109.236.110:20125 you shouldn't need to use a port. No Domain name, to lazy to invest in one, if i do invest in a domain name i will be getting a DNS server as well to handle when ip switches happen from main hub nobody notices anything.

 

Ran into an issue. For some reason the planets are duplicating themselves in the world list. I don't know if they're eating up resources or not, but just something to get checked out on.

One final question - the older version had a reload button so I could reload settings on the fly like white lists, new admins etc.... I don't see this button now, am I missing something?

 

My past time post mentions this, where it says confirmed. It seems the .jar while running automatically scans the same spot where the .jar is located for any changes/updates to the .properties and .xml file and applies them immediately, eliminating the need to even manually reload the data. Automation making it easier for user side, less hassle, more productivity. I like his style

I guess I'd really love to see some sort of MOTD feature as well as a broadcast feature from the console but I'd rather have the last of the bugs worked out. I am ready to donate my life to Icer lol

 

Does running the headless mode off your server improve performance at all? is it worth it?

 

Whats headless mode? You mean with out console? Oh hell no its a nightmare for me, i prefer to have the option to enable the webgui AND the header. So i can see one on the pc, since i cannot figure out how to fix the issue, this console seems to be the only one erroring up on my one host system with not correctly updating on the web gui. Everything else checks out fine for me. >.> makes me want kick the stupid thing.

New suggestion:

Enable headerless mode and headermode, its optional in the configurations. Unless im missing something..

 

Strange you are having that issue. I booted it up on my server (Windows 2012) and the GUI loaded just fine with the 127.0.0.1 address and everything updates. I figured it would save some resource not displaying the GUI on the server since I access it via the web anyways

 

what did you do to enable it?

I never see the gui populate on my end only have access to the web gui.

 

nothing, I just double clicked the Jar file, said yes to the port redirection and that's it. Your main config should have a port of 21024 not the default 21025

 

oh, make sure 127.0.0.1 is in your admin section of the config for access

 

NOooo i mean i cannot access the old console. You must mean the new console i was meaning for the old one. Thought you'd have the old one and then the web gui one.

 

I am referring to the new console, the blue-ish one, not the old white one

Side note - I don't think the auto restart in case of a serious error is working correctly. I just had a serious error, the server shut down but didn't start back up, I had to do it manually.

 

What was your error logs? List them? Mine crashed from a reload error and ended up restarting 3x before it functioned correctly (With out my interaction). Just payed attention to it.

 

This isn't very important but I'm curious. The Server Password field says "no password set" even though I have a password set for my server. Do I need to edit a file or something to include or reference this password?

@supernet2 yeah Icer went from the gui console to the web interface instead. I'm not sure what headerless mode is to begin with since I don't have any other output console save for If I run the jar with java.exe instead of javaw.exe.
