    I think there may yet be a more elegant solution, looking into it~

    Oooookay, I found a neat little solution in one step, from a fresh install;
    * Copy Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\win32\libeay32.dll to Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\win32\launcher\

    It seems the launcher was just missing this dll

    Edit: Let me know if this works for you too, just to be sure.

    I tried this, from a fresh install, but I'm still stuck at the Starbound Launcher. Everything on it works fine, except for Launch Starbound.

    You waited a few minutes after pressing the Launch Starbound button? Some people were reporting delays launching.
    In any case it sounds as if you have a second issue that I do not.
    But now that your launcher is working, you could try running as administrator and such, to see if that helps?

  9. Alfred

    Alfred Master Chief

    that sounds like my problem

  10. Halon

    Halon Phantasmal Quasar

    Exactly my problem, Exept I've tried un-and-re installing the game, restarting the computer, updating steam and un-and-re-installing the game again. It doesn't work!:cry:

  11. Kitsune Zeta

    Kitsune Zeta Void-Bound Voyager

    I can confirm that copying the dll over fixes the Error Code 1 issue (and makes the launcher work correctly on my end, which in turn allows the game itself to run).

    Sadvrius I Space Spelunker

    I have now waited 10+ minutes and still nothing happens.

    Edit: Also, neither running as administrator, rebooting nor reinstalling helped.

    At least it worked for some people like it worked for me~ :3

    Acru Scruffy Nerf-Herder

    It could be another dll issue. You could try copying all the dll from the launhcer dir into the win32 dir?
    Aside from that, it is hard to say what might be wrong, as it is working for me with the above.
