Release Date?

Well I hope it is fun as well on top of having lots of content.

 

I'm willing to wait as long as it takes to make it a good game. I seriously doubt it will come out until the end of the summer at the least.

Pretty sure tiy stated "towards the end of Q4" at one point.

Given the amount of footage we have seen, i'm going to say December. November if we are lucky.

Wait what?... 5 months? That's Mid-January...

Q4 = 4th Quarter. Oct-Nov-Dec - So, current estimate is at most 4½ months

 

Even if Starbound would be released in 2013, I wouldn't care.
It's better like that, so the devs can test the game more careful on bugs, add even more amazing features and improve these.
Using the Mojang Mentality would be a bad idea with this game, and is in general already a bad idea

I can only hope it doesn't suffer from horrible amounts of feature creep. I'm sure they will release it when its good to go and not think "just oooone more thing." So long as all the bugs are out I'll be happy.

 

They said they will have content patches and stuff after release. I don't see them delaying the game just because they thought up of a new feature late in development. They'll just patch it in.

 

The mayans left a clear message about it - December 21th is Starbound release.Obviously.

 

Starbound begins with you fleeing your homeworld in a space shuttle, just as it’s destroyed by an unknown enemy. .... oh i see it now.

 

It was suppoed to be relased at end of July but this date moved to end of year... Ahwww, I cannot stand this waiting

 

Most of us have learned to withhold speculation on this topic as it's not something that we can accurately predict. The only basis we have for any guesswork is what we think the development stage is at, and that's a widely-varied opinion among the fanbase.
(My money is on Spring 2013)
Just relax, browse the forums, and find something else to occupy your time until then.
