IMO I think you guys should make the speech box bigger and the command box smaller. Like, two lines of text larger. I don't know, it just feels less cramped that way.
Either this or have the text box shrink and grow based on the screen. Like for the first screen all you need is a simple "Welcome. What do you require?" And a large option range. However if you are getting quest info it needs to be a larger text box, with the remaining space for close, more info, etc. buttons. Maybe have the text box change size based on the amount of text and the number of commands.
But pixels are trade. They aren't a worthless object given value like current forms of currency, they are a practical and universal material used as currency. It's like old gold coins, the coins themselves had value because they were gold, not because they were coins. I realise they are still just a currency mechanic but it's good to see something different than making up a strangely named form of money that only works as money. Other currencies would be cool but there use would be specialised and couldn't be universal unless their value went beyond simple money. I mean if I viist an outpost, it makes sense that pixels would be preferred. if I brought a sword from a black smith, coins would require him to travel to get supplies where as pixels stand to replace many of those materials. (In an illusionary factor obviously, still just a currency mechanic as I said)
Wouldn't it be cool if you could find new and different AIs for your ship from missions or maybe random ones in chests, that way if you don't like the one you're assigned because of your race you could change it. Another option would be just always having different ones available to switch between.
No ETA as yet. ETA's get taken as iron clad promises made with the blood of virgins and loved ones so I don't think we will see any generous estimates any more until much closer to release. Anyway, it will still be in beta after the update, just another stage of such
Hello Tiy, please take a look at this. Since Starbound was released I always wished for more graphical options like turning off the background on planets to boost FPS for people like me who aren't fortunate enough to have nice computers. Please take this into consideration.
If you want to guarantee that devs see your messages then message them directly. I doubt many would ignore your polite manner. On another note I have seen this subject somewhere before in another thread where people were discussing how to do so manually. Not sure if it was a suggestion or an actual attempt at doing so. It's out there somewhere
S.A.I.L confirmed to star in MIB 4. No, but seriously, this is gonna be great. Starbound is my favorite game, an I'm loving the screenshots of whats to come.
To put it simply, it's kinda the difference in movement between layers. So if you're focusing on the character, when you move you'll move faster then the objects in the background.
for those who are really interested on the details: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parallax TLDR: Parallax is a way to have different backgrounds and move them at different speeds as to give the illusion of depth.
