I agree with the 2 posts above and probably not a variant like that.

 

I came here to learn about Starbound hoping that it would be a replacement of Terraria and was rather dissapointed.

Sorry if I gave the image of being a troll I am simply hoping to steer the devs into a better direction with the game but seeing as you folks seem to like where the game is headed I suppose I should not interfere with such affairs. I will try to be more positive from now on.

This game will be like Terraria, don't worry. It just has more features and is not around mining, If you buy the game, you'll be glad you did.

 

Scientifically, Unless a planet has a moon, or other nearby planet, it wouldn't have any tides. This would hinder the transition of life from the ocean to the land during the evolution cycle, but it would still happen, just later on. So perhaps a planet without a tidal system would have more intelligent water creatures than land ones.

I am still unsure about it. I have to see a demo or gameplay footage before I truly make a decision.

Here in Finland my vacation is probably only half over when Starbound is released. Wonder if I can pre-purchase it soon from Steam...
