New NPC Race?

I know about the Agarians, but I haven't seen nor heard about these. At first I thought they were the Novakids, but looking at the wiki, that clearly isn't the case.

Does anyone know about these guys?

 

I hear they are related to the apex.

 

Not exactly- they just have the exact same lines as Apex civilians. Pretty lazy, but I guess it wasn't really given much thought by the devs in the update rush.

 

Remind me of the Grand Galactic Inquisitor.

Actually, that's not true.
They all say "replace" when you engage conversation, so it's obviously WIP.
They did, however have the same panic speech as the wandering merchants when attacked, so there's that.

 

Whoa, really? I play as a Hylotl, and they have the exact same lines for me as the Apex villagebros. Stuff like:
"Save us from the Miniknog, fish!"
"Would you like to join my band?"
"Spread your peace, Hylotl. You'll have no trouble here."

 

Strange... I'm playing as Apex (as you can see in the image), so that might affect it?

 

Well, I leafed through my screenshot library for a bit and here's what I found:

The strange thing is, looking in the "colourfulvillager" file in the npc assets folder shows that the only dialog they are coded with is "Replace". I don't know what happened.

Woah, they're like Power Ranger aliens.

 

Bunny eared Power Rangers with masks and robes. Also, they only come in yellow, blue, and pink.
And while we're on the subject, it doesn't seem like they're coded to drop their costumes just yet. Which is sad, because I want those really badly. From looking in the files, they also appear to be dyeable. I can't wait.

 

It'd be neat to see them in different more colors. They look like something you'd see in Adventure Time.

 

I think they're the rabbit race that you can see statues of in the Avian temples...

 

Oh I wasn't paying attention to the ear hats because they all talking, but that could be interpreted through art as bunny people.

 

Bunny people sounds plausible! I sure hope they get their own backstory and niche in the Starbound universe!!

It's alright, I have a natural grudge against the Hylotl considering how much of dicks they are to Glitch and Florans.

 

The Florans enjoy eating fish eyeballs, what do you expect?
