Hello, it's been weeks that I research where those particles are and how mod them... I'm not really good at modding and I want to mod those particles for rp. Thanks in advance. (If you can't see what I mean, look here : )
Did you unpack your Starbound assets? If not, check out how to do it here: http://community.playstarbound.com/threads/how-to-successfully-pack-and-unpack-pak-files.66649/ If you don't know how to make a mod, check this thread: http://community.playstarbound.com/threads/modding-guides.34001 Now that you have unpacked your assets, you can start editing any Starbound game files (any edit you make to the unpacked files will NOT affect the game, if you want to make a mod check the thread above). Straight to the point: This is where you will find the source files of the Perfect Armor set in your assets (source files for each armor piece): \assets\items\armors\other\perfect Now for the particles. These are the main files that have to do with the Perfect Armor particles: \assets\particles\perfect.particle \assets\effects\perfect.effectsource Try editing the above files and pack the edited ones into a mod or create a patch to test your changes. There may be tutorials online on how to edit particles/effects for Starbound but the best way to find out (for now, of course) is by trial and error. Hope this helps a bit. ~Leonidas
Thanks a lot man. I've already created mods myself so I already knew how to pack/unpack, create mods, ect... But the particles part was really useful, I know how to mod them now. Maybe soon, I'll create some armors with particles and publish them (It will be my first time, because I don't publish my mods normally) If you want to take a look to the result (I've only replaced the sprite's particle) :
This is great stuff, man! Glad you've found this helpful. Looking forward to seeing more of your work. ;] It's all about tweaking and adjusting till you get the desired result! EDIT: Found this tutorial thread about custom particles, you may check it out if you haven't already: http://community.playstarbound.com/threads/how-to-make-custom-animated-particle-effect.85015/
