Race Meet the Monophytes

Probably the best user-made race so far. Better than Novakid.

 

Update on Monophyte weapons

 

Too... many... eye related... puns.

Might be interesting if their ranged weapons were beam-based. We don't seem to have those ingame just now, afaik.

 

They are light-based weapons. So basically, yeah, lasers and stuff. The projectiles have no bullet drop and uncommonly nearly hitscan in velocity, but often require more energy or deals a lot less damage. Most of them have no recoil, therefore has minimal bullet spread. They all suffer from the absence of knockback. Most also lack projectile penetration, except for An Eye Hillator, which can always penetrate through at least one foe.

Despite this, they are actually quite underpowered and are meant more as a utility than as a main weapon.

I'm actually jealous. That is a cool sprite.

This race keeps getting better. And if it doesn't make it into post launch content, I can almost guarantee that the community will make a mod for this race, everybody will use it. Then it'll be canon.

I really like these guys, we need a darker side to the game, too much whimsy can be sickening, but maybe that's just me.

This just made me think of the Rock Sirloin from Majora's Mask. Mmmmm... Tungsten...

 

Definitely a well-thought-out race. I'm really liking the concepts for it, I totally back it!

So, presumably their spaceship designs would involve lots of glass walls? Sounds like it would be pretty sweet-looking.

 

I'd personally be interested in seeing this race added in. I mean, this race has a truly alien look to it.

I like this race. If it is implemented or modded in i would choose it over the novakids. The puns are punny, they look absolutely perfect, have the air of mysticism due to their 'advanced' technology and above all they have gorgeous designs.

 

I've instantly fallen in love with this race.
