Is there any sandbox games like terraria/starbound?

Actually thats a good idea, Ive never played a terraria mod, might be worth checking out one of those, something with quests and achievements and levels would be cool

 

Yeah, i've never checked out any Terraria mods either, might be a fun idea. Lately i've been playing Minecraft for all my sandbox needs, currently using the Feed the Beast Ultimate pack before I move on to a new world when all the mods are updated to 1.6.

 

Use this to learn how to install mods, tconfig and a server setup. It also has a list of mods, but here is another list which has some different ones, and here is yet another with even more. You need any help, just send me a PM. Hell, I could probably even set one up for you. :whistle:

 

ah thanks! Well I installed n-terraria, its pretty good except these modders just cant seem to control themselves and put in silly over powered weapons right from the start.. spoils it a bit, think i'll try have to try a few others before finding the right one.

 

Try Avalon and Difficulty Adjuster. By far my favorites. Oh, and YYY Mannequins to fix them not working.

Not sure if your PC can handle it, but Bastion is a very fun game and a great soundtrack
Superbrothers: Sword and Sworcery EP, another 2d game that is AMAZING!

If he can't play The Binding of Isaac, then he'll flatline with Minecraft.

Just wait a little while longer. Starbound might take some time still, but Terraria 1.2 (or whatever.) will be out before the end of September.

Bastion is available as a browser game. Should run fine.

Play Tekkit or Voltz with friends.

 

Try starmade (not 2d) it's in alpha, I believe. it's free and basically minecraft in space.

Seriously though these mainstream pc makers really are cheapo when it comes to making computers. So hard to find a laptop that can keep up these days and the store bought pc's aren't much better.

 

I used to have a laptop with 64mb of video ram, and its last driver update was 2 year ago. I could barely play anything on the laptop.

 

It's not hard to find good laptops for mid-level graphics or well optimized semi-high level graphics. Theyre just expensive. Lenovo has one with two nvidia gtx cards for ~$1000
