Actually, a few of them probably did preorder the game, since at least one of them wants to LP it. (also they're showing it to millions of subscribers but WHATEVER )

 

I have a feeling that there are going to be some jealous people saturday... I may be one of them... Just saying

 

I won't watch it unless it's going to announce the beta release date. inb4 someone replies to me with "2013"

 

Can't wait to see the demo! I am sure it will be all over YouTube for later viewing

I don't get all this supposed bad feelings about a public demo though.

We payed for Starbound. Great. You did not PAY for beta, did not PAY early access. You pre-ordered a game, and one of the benefits happens to be access to beta when it starts.

This is marketing, a public demonstration to get even more people interested. How is this bad? How is this unfair to you (proverbial complainer, no one in particular). They are playing a very closed demo made for marketing purposes. It will be controlled. So you would rather have them release the same demo to us so that we can complain about things that are still highly WIP? So that nubbins play the game and bitch on youtube about how it doesn't seem like a full game because its a sliver of the game... a public demo for pete's sake. No. I would prefer them to market their hearts out and we can get a full on beta when they are ready to release to the wild.

We will get unfettered beta access when it comes. I know which I prefer, and frankly I'm happy that they got a venue to help promote this fantastic work. Good luck this weekend Chucklefish! I wouldn't be worried much about the entitled ignorance
