I think the game got updated just now

    Not sure if it is, but my steam started downloading something for Starbound. Maybe a new update? Hopefully I don't lose my character.

    Yeup. I think you'll keep the character this round. No telling for the next update though :) I like fresh starts.
    Hopefully they replace the tier 1 boss with something more manageable for players who can't access guns untill after the fact.
