And by 3D i mean first person

 

i imagine it would play out poorly. starbound can have lots of platforming in caves and stuff. platforming and first person do not go well.

 

Then we would be saying Minecraft in space rather than Terraria in space.

hmm, i dont think i can envision a death match on starbound. if there is one thing i can see first person making better in starbound, its the erchius facility. that place had great horror potential, maybe moreso with first person.

I imagine 3d Starbound would be a lot like XenoMiner.

Pretty fun sandboxy game with an interesting crafting system. No jumping between starsystems as far as I can tell, but pretty close to what I think 3dStarbound would be.

I would link the game, but I haven't made enough posts to be able to yet xD

 

Something between Minecraft and No Man's Sky. Or maybe like Minecraft with Galacticraft and a whole load of other mods. In any case, I imagine the game save filesizes would be pretty huge.
