Another great update, I agree that SAIL fits it a lot better. I still prefer my demented neurotoxin loving cake baking death machine though
I like the term S.A.I.L. Pretty clever. But I think over time by means of corruption/reprogramming the Floran version would change into their favorite four letter word: S.T.A.B. Which ostensibly would stand for "Ship-based Terrarium Administration Box." But actually all the letters also stand for STAB
The mockup itself almost looks like a fleshed out portrait to portrait general character interaction system. What about having an interaction box like this to go through quests with npcs as well? Or a series of boxes a la starcraft's introductory dialogue sequences for group conversations? No reason world chat couldn't exist as well in it's current iteration
I like this idea. Maybe differend for every race. For example, W.I.N.G. for Avians etc. Acronyms ftw. Alternatively for STAB, little more floran-like; Shiny Thing Always Blabbers.
Cant wait for the update that includes this and ship upgrades, will be spending quite some time enjoying decking out my ship without chests being everywhere
I would ask for a mod that would "reprogram" S.A.I.L to talk like "Yo dawg, wanna go to that shiny planet in sector beta? Then yah gotta bring me some fuel, dude" I mean, annoyingly funny.
so how long before someone will change the character into a vegetable and rename it "ship-based artificial intelligence lettuce"
I certainly like the UI, it's very crisp and straightforward. One thing that strikes me as odd is the option to Create a Matter Manipulator. Currently there is no way to get rid of the Matter Manipulator. You can't Trash it nor can you throw it on the ground. While it could be the replacement to the first quest, I think that it would be better served by what some of the others are saying by having it be an optional quest for different upgrades (less fuel required to jump or larger fuel capacity) or perhaps a scanning ability for the planet that you're orbiting (the presence of NPC villages, of rare materials such as the Strange Matter, or high concentrations of hazards such as poisonous water, lava, or the random environmental hazards like the dust storms or falling debris)
I have an idea for the name... Make it so you can name it what ever you want. That way you have more customization to your ship. And maybe you can add more A.I. avatars.

Amazing! I was thinking that you could decide how it speaks like: Jarvis: (From Ironman) "Sir, the hull is badly damaged." "Yes, sir." Normal and boring: "The hull is damaged" Agressive?: "Go fix the hull you stupid" "Why can't you do it? Fine i will do it." Im sure you could come up with more, but these are just examples.
