Reminds me of S.L.A.I...I'm gonna name mine JOL! Also S.A.I? Now how am I supposed to tell people I'm drawing on Sai without them wondering how I do it.
I wonder since the Floran ship is surrounded by vines, would that therefore mean that the vines are the AI.
Personally, I think the ship AI should be an optional upgrade, with various additional upgrades to expend pixels on to customize it such as changing the name, setting a personality, granting additional features, and even if at all possible changing the avatar. Not sure how plausible that is, but eh, suggestions are suggestions.
I have to ask, sharing sentiment of user above - will there be an option to actually opt-out of ship's AI? I understand it may help with providing flavor/fluff for the player and is a framework for certain features but it would be nice if I could just have straight, stiff commands without silly icon or greetings if I choose to.
what if, later on in the game, your A.I betrays you and you have to fight it? as in, you fight the ship itself, along with all the fancy upgrades you gave it?
Now make it possible that as a random "End-Game" occuring event, the AI goes nuts and lock you out of airlocks.
