Feedback Escort missions need to be reevaluated...

I also do it this way. When I was helping people in a glitch world. (Apparently their friends love exploring and getting lost in a glitch fortress.) I would just put the flag in town. Flag in the Fortress, and away we go.

 

There's a couple mods available that will save your ass on Escort missions, and when using Crew members at all. Earth's Finest, which improves all your Crew members in ways specific to their class, making them serve actual purpose, and a second one, name forgotten, that gives your Crew immunity to Poison / Lava. So even though they're relatively dumb as bricks, they're now POWERFUL to make up for it, and even though they'll swim in lava at every opportunity, they'll no longer die doing so.

All of this combines to make them VERY, VERY HANDY for protecting your Escort NPCs.

That being said, rather than risk running back to town with a weakling in tow, I simply beam straight to ship, then to town, then talk to quest-giver. DONE.

 

Drop lava on them. Fixes the problem quickly.

 

Lol, i got 5-6 escort missions and got 3 of the escorts at the same time............. Then i fell and dropped my items...........it was my first death............DANG ESCORT MISSIONS!!!They need to be less common.
