Hear ye, hear ye! [114] <+kyren> Jorian [114] <+kyren> the reason is [115] <+kyren> previously (before enraged) [115] <Jorian> me? [115] <+kyren> yes [115] <+kyren> the reason you have to play in enraged 1-4 is [115] <+kyren> for worlds you want to keep [115] <+kyren> is that celestial generation used to not be stored *at all* [115] <+kyren> and one of the changes in enraged koala was to make it stored [115] <+kyren> HOWEVER [115] <+kyren> enraged 5 changes universe gen [115] <+kyren> so in order to lock in your previous universe [115] <+kyren> you have to play using enraged 1-4 [115] <+kyren> before 5 [116] <+kyren> make sense? Inaccurate changelog number 1... srsly guys give us ACCURATE changelogs... what items were added? Are they accessable or not? Anything COMPLETLY new? Edit: Also WHAT bugfixes? I want to know what got fixed... others probaly aswell...
Great so when are we going to see a purgitory and heaven biome? Also can't wait to meet god. .. what would god need with a starship. Piffle. Good thing this is scifi and not fantasy eh? ;p Great patch notes too: More or less says, "I have no idea whats going on despite helping make this game."
bump. because somehow I have to be sure that patch + 4 hotfix is up, no chest deletion happening, but have to be sure too that I can stop before 5th hotfix so no world wipe happens. how can I check this?
Chucklefish employees are all over the world, working collaboratively on something they love. Some of them are specialists. Some of them are not. I may be able to sprite and code; but not every coder is a spriter, and not every spriter is a coder.
I am having an identical issue out of the blue. Glad it isn't my files, then. I wondered how it wasn't loading when I hadn't played it in 24 hours and changed nothing
I still missing weather. It was changed and not chageloged? After 450 planets, I didn't found a single one with weather...
OKAY NO. EVERYBODY STOP. "Some other items and things were added, but not sure if they’re accessible yet." As a alpha beta tester who PAID for the privilege to do so, THIS MUST BE CONSIDERED UNACCEPTABLE. THIS IS NON-INFORMATION. THIS IS UNTESTABLE. THIS IS SOMETHING YOU SAY FOR A BONUS PACK AFTER IT IS DONE. NOT WHILE FEATURES MAY OR MAY NOT BE INCLUDED AND MAY OR MAY NOT WORK AS EXPECTED BUT WE WOULD HAVE NO IDEA. Seriously how is no-one more disturbed by this.
Oh, I am. But I can only stand to read these so often, or I start popping blood vessels. I just, I don't have the energy for a long post right now. I haven't slept well lately. Chucklefish, stop keeping secrets from your testers-slash-source-of-income.
I'm more disturbed that they posted a news article about adding mods to the base game instead of addressing this.
What. "It's a beta! How dare they still have bugs?" This makes no sense. Here's the thing: it's a beta, you're a beta tester. It's your JOB to report bugs. You should be HAPPY to catch 'em. Yeah, so you paid for it. So what? You didn't pay for a release, you paid for participating in the development of the game. That the game is that awesome that soon is NO EXCUSE to expect release-quality from a beta. Yeah, the patching is a little chaotic right now. What a surprise, a small dev team doesn't have the same Q&A chain as a big name. Cool down, people. Enjoy the game. Report bugs. If the worlds still pop on an update after the release, THEN you can complain.
You should quote and read, the whole post. They clearly mean that the lack of documentation on updates of any sort, is unacceptable. Not a complaint about bugs at all in the post.
Wondering if Bart's fix to the farmables made it into the collection of bugfixes this patch. He was working on that last night on stream
Think of it like this - say you bought any other product, lets say for instance a washing machine. The company let you have it for cheaper, because even though the core functionality was there, it still wasn't all complete. Every now and again, they'd send a technician to add the next little part to said washing machine. Now, going with this analogy, lets say you have a technician come into your house, work on the machine, and then go to leave. When asked about what he did, he responds with "uh, yeah, I tweaked the timer so it works better and added some other stuff. I'm not sure if the other stuff is functioning though.", and leaves. The issue, as has been repeated ad nausium, isn't that there are bugs to find, but simply that they're saying they've "changed stuff" and left us all in the dark on what got changed. If you catch it in time. I have a dev server running on my box, so I can't shut it down and I've been hit with all the updates, usually at three in the morning while I'm sleeping. Edit: Alright, I think I should also explain my resoning further. Lets, for a moment, say that they add BIg Stomping Gun, but it's not droping. You know a easy fix to that? MODDING! If we know it's there, then we can fix the small issues that crop up, and save the devs some time.
How difficult that is to make acceptable patch notes? "We added some stuff today, not really sure if it works though, gl figuring it out"
Just FYI, this hotfix fixed my celestial parse bug. Haven't tested much yet, but things seem to be working well.
