The stars are called Avatar Overlays, they were given as a prize for winning the Official monster creation contest form a while back. Anyone who placed got an overlay and the top winners got a special one. Staff and devs also have overlays that denote them as such.

The guys from the Russian community of developers asked to hold similar competitions. They said there will be more competitions coming soon! So do not worry. Very nice. I don't suppose you would mind sharing some more info on these awesome brushes you use for your paintings? Possibly any particular stroke techniques? (Still inexperienced with actual brushes myself, most of my stuff is post-shaded solid colors.)
Awesome brushes? Hmm... I don't use something uncommon... I use blending, pressure opacity control, watercolor brushes... That's all. They can be cute too... When they don't eat avians... Thank you)
I think Moon Night in Space is my favorite, probably because of both the purple and the sky. The others are fantastic as well.
