Crashed spaceships/stations/satellites

Their are lots of stories that could be told here, this is a great idea. Imagine you find a log of the desperate crew, recording their last moments....

"It's no use, the beast is too strong! It has killed the crew, wrecked our engines. We sent a distress signal, but I have no hope of rescue. To any that find this, RUN! Though if you are reading this, it is too late.

And then a bloodcurdling howl comes from outside.....

Also have asteroid fields that turn out to be made of broken ships.....

 

A spaceship graveyard, like Sector Y from Star Fox, or a collapsed super space station, like Sector X.

 

YES! Maybe inhabited by an ancient evil....

 

OH god.

 

Thinkin' more of the opposite direction... haha!

 

The only "Ancient Evil" I wanna see in a destroyed space station setting goes "Destroy, destroy, you are an enemy!"

Actually.... What if you could encounter certain bosses without summoning them in certain biomes? A rouge robot would be a perfect foe to encounter in a wrecked space station!

 

That's actually a really wicked idea.
Also, have some of them (or giant chunks of them) orbiting the planets/moons the rest of the ship is found on. of course, since the electrical systems are ruined you'd need a space suit and stuff, but still.

 

That would be pretty awesome. Also, it would be cool if you could find semi-randomized captain's logs in the ruins of ships, to add a bit of story, maybe even a dark hint to how they died, or if they're still alive, a survivor camp somewhere on the planet.

Just to point out people would send satellites to other worlds, like we do with mars. And yes MOST debris would burn up in thick atmospheres unless properly shielded (heat shields, etc.), so that would be something to make an encounter like that less common on certain planets.

 

Yes, crashed spaceships can appear since they are dungeons, such as the Avian tombs or Apex prisons.

 

Yes! Then I could live in a broken down spaceship! And maybe they could explode if you break, like, an engine or something!

 

Or perhaps you could find a huge delerict ship in space. It could be treated like a very small planet. And on that ship you could find lots of interesting tech. And hostile.... aliens! Imagine a scenario just like from the movie!

Or, a crushed spaceship..... deep underwater! For example, on a total water planet! Or deep under the ice on a completely frozen planet! (with aliens! )

yeah it sounds great! but what if you could find smaller satellites, repair them, and take them with you? in a special hangar bay or something. and launch them to scout planets?

 

yes!!! yes!!! thats exactly what we need! (but not too many aliens) (some, though!)

 

There should be planets that are giant space stations (like the Death Star)
