(A Reference Guide for the Rest Of Us!)

So, you've been seeing things in that decrepit old building, haven't you. You aren't sure if what you saw was actual magic, or just some really good herbs the old wizard threw together. But you're really interested in cleaning up the place, and getting some really good rewards from it. So... how is it best done?

Well, I don't really claim to be an expert, however I've done this a few times, and there's a few things I wish I had known first time through to be able to complete it a bit more efficiently. So, without further ado... let's do this.

    Humble Spirit Bundles

Now, you can check on any bundles you have unlocked at ANY time. In your inventory screen, over in the top right corner is a white-ish icon you can click on. The trick here is that not every bundle unlocks in time to plant and harvest the necessary resources before it goes out of season. But using that button can really help get an eye on what you need.

This is the first one that unlocks, and unlocking these are the key to the rest of the bundles. Most of these aren't too difficult, however you won't be able to complete before Winter of the first year because of the winter forage bundle you need, barring an extreme amount of luck with the Traveling Cart.

Spring/Summer/Fall/Winter bundles are fairly straightforward. You'll find 'em as you wander around. Shouldn't have a problem.

Construction Bundle won't be THAT hard, but the hardwood means you'll need to upgrade your axe before being able to complete it unless you get very lucky in the mines.

Exotic Foraging Bundle is going to be intimidating but not too difficult. Tap one of each of three types of trees, cave carrot from the mines shouldn't be too difficult to find, and that leaves one of either the rare mushrooms OR one of the forages from the desert. However, there's a trick here that few people know about. Your farm starts off with a large mushroom, although you have to cut your way through a bunch of trees for it. Put a tapper on the large mushroom, and you can get red or purple mushrooms from it. Or just chop it down for the red mushrooms. Or you can get lucky with the Traveling Cart having one of the items you need for this bundle.

The seasonable bundles nets you 30 of that season's seeds. The construction bundle nets you a Charcoal Kiln, which can be handy early-game for a bit of coal from wood to get you started before you hit level 50 in the mines. The exotic bundle nets you five Autmn's Bounty, which is decent food. Finishing off the room nets you access to the Quarry.

This is the next bundle that unlocks, and nets you the very valuable Greenhouse when unlocked.

The three seasonal (spring/summer/winter) are all very straightforward. Plant, harvest, bundle get. It's the other three that can sometimes make you pull your hair out.

The quality bundle can be a bit tricky because most people hear about the large crops that can spawn when you grow a big block. However, while the large crops produce 18 results (twice as much!), it is impossible for them to have stars, which can REALLY put a damper on this bundle. Melons and Pumpkins both take almost half a season to grow, and getting five gold stars can be challenging. You're definitely going to want to use the best quality fertilizer you have access to when planting them, but make sure you don't have any 3 x 3 areas that could go large. Personally, I tend to plant cornrows. Corn you can plant in Summer, and is going to be your backup in case you don't get the gold star melons. With two seasons of growth, you should be able to get five gold star corn from a relatively small corn field.

The Animal Bundle is going to be delayed until you have enough resources to build both a big coop and a big barn. Fortunately, you can score what you need without needing the third tier animal facility. You can pull it off with chickens (one of each color), a duck, a cow, and a goat. The wool is entirely optional.

The Artisan Bundle is going to be your pain. Some of these you can get from the same source as your animal bundle (cheese, goat cheese) and the honey and jelly are going to be fairly straightforward as well. That's four. Of six. If you picked Fruit Bats instead of Fungus for your farm cave, there's a (slim) chance that one of the tree fruits will show up there, which can make this happen much faster. Cloth can sometimes show up by putting newspaper into a recycling machine. And, of course, every Friday and Sunday, check the traveling cart vendor to see if you can buy something for this bundle. Failing that, if you can get an Apple tree down before the end of Spring, that will not only go to completing this one, but another one as well which requires not one but three apples. That's tough to do, though, unless you go heavily into fishing.

This room unlocks after the second bundle is finished, typically the spring foraging and spring crops bundles. This is found almost entirely in the mines. Completing all three nets you unlocking the minecart system, which is an enormous time-saver.

Blacksmith's Bundle requires copper, iron, and gold. It's the gold that will be the delay here. If necessary, buy five gold nuggets from Clint.

Geologist's Bundle is going to likely be the last thing you get due to the fire quartz unless you can luck into buying one from the traveling cart.

Adventurer's Bundle is easy. Batwings and slimes. Done. If you hit level 50 before you have 100 slime (doubtful) a solar essence can solve it instead, but shouldn't be necessary.

    The Vault

This is a simple cash investment. Money goes in, bundle comes out. It's like JojaCorp Lite.

This can be a very frustrating bundle to complete if you don't know what to fish when and where. I'll be going over this in more depth later when I do a season-by-season what to grab, but here's the highlights.

River Fish can all be found, except the Tiger Trout, in the Spring, although landing them can be difficult if you don't have a few levels of Fishing under your belt. Both Catfish and Shad can ONLY be obtained on a rainy day. I'd suggest the spot right underneath Leah's cottage (particularly if you are trying to romance her, since she can be quite difficult to track down if you aren't conveniently outside her door fishing when she leaves).

Lake Fish isn't much more complicated. Everything but the Sturgeon is able to be caught in Spring, and literally everything in this bundle can be caught in the summertime. Everything is also able to be caught on a clear day. Carp doesn't put up much of a fight, and Bullhead isn't much more feisty. The Largemouth bass might be more tricky to land until you've got some skill under your belt.

Ocean Fish mostly appear in the Summer, so you have time to get a few levels before tackling these. Sardines don't put up much of a fight, so you can pick one up in Spring.

Night Fish is something of a misnomer since two out of the three are also rain-dependent. Bream can be taken from river waters after 6 PM in any season, and is the easiest of the three to get. Walleye can only be taken from a river in the fall, at night, in the rain. This is really easy to miss, since it is typically thundering when it rains in the fall, and people don't like getting crops hit by lightning. Stock up on those lightning rods! Eels are kind of slippery, but can be taken from the ocean at night in the rain, so theoretically possible on the evening of Spring 3 of the first year if you're good at the fishing minigame.

Crab Pot bundle is really easy, as four out of the five are forages from the beach. Put a crab pot in a pond in your farm for the last one. You can also get crabs from the Rock Crab, meaning this bundle may be completed with zero crab pots needed.

Specialty Fish is the most tricky, and is going to require some decent skill. Pufferfish is only available from Noon to 4 PM in the ocean and only in the Summer, so you're probably going to have to hit the ocean in the summer consistently until you get one. Woodskip is in the Secret Woods, and needs an Iron Axe to get into, unless you can purchase from traveling cart. Sandfish is from the desert pond, unless you can purchase from traveling cart. Ghostfish is going to be from the pond in the mines at level 20, 60, and 100. They are also a rare drop from the ghosts on level 51-90. Purchasing one from the cart vendor can also save time.

Ugh. This is my personal bane, because there is such a wide variety of stuff these people want. I'll be honest, this is going to likely be the LAST one you finish, most likely because of the Wizard, unless you get REALLY lucky with the traveling cart and get a Rabbit's Foot.

Chef bundle is going to need you to have the iron axe to get the Fiddlehead Fern, which is found ONLY in the summer in the Secret Forest. It also requires a Truffle, which Pigs produce (unless you get lucky with a cart purchase). The poppy is easy to plant, but easy to miss the first time around because the bundle doesn't unlock until your fourth bundle, so you've likely completed your summer forage and summer harvest, so you're in your third week of summer already when this typically unlocks (unless you can unlock the construction bundle early). Don't forget it! Maple Syrup is needed for your artisan bundle, so having it on tap is going to also solve this problem. The two crafting recipes can be purchased from Gus if the cooking show is unkind to you.

Dye Bundle is annoying because of the duck feather. It's a very rare drop from a duck, I think you need like three hearts for one to have a chance of dropping in the first place, and ducks always seem to take forever to get their hearts up. That's really the only sticking point here, since you can get red mushrooms from either chopping to tapping the big mushroom on your farm. Oh, and don't forget the Red Cabbage. It's really easy to miss, and if you don't get it in the ground in time for harvest, you have to wait a whole year. Same thing with the sunflower.

Field Research bundle is just... yanno, this guy is already a big enough jerk if you are trying to romance Maru, why did he have to do this? Chub is easy to get, just try and avoid them! Frozen Geode... okay, fine. The Nautilus Shell can ONLY be foraged in the Winter on the beach (and tidal pool). Miss it, and you have to wait until winter of year two, which is cutting it awfully close if you want the extra points for Grandfather. And then there's the Purple Mushroom. If you picked Fungus instead of Fruit Bats, and you tapped your big mushroom, then you probably won't have a problem getting this. But they only show up deep in the mines (around 85ish is where they start spawning), and are a rarity for all three methods.

Fodder Bundle is deceptively annoying. Marney, why you want so many apples? If you can get an Apple Tree down by the end of Spring, you're golden. Otherwise, you'll have to wait until Fall of year 2 to get this. Other than that, wheat and hay are not difficult to get.

Enchanter's Bundle. Yanno what? Go perform a biological impossibility upon yourself you old geezer. First you get me tripping on that 'potion' of yours, convince me to start doing odd jobs for 'spirits', and now you do this to me? Either you are an expert level troll, or you're just that plain cruel. The Oak Resin is easy enough, although you are also wanting those things for your kegs. The wine is fairly easy with aforementioned kegs. The Pomegranate is... a pain. You already are having to get an apple tree for Marney's bundle, putting down both an Apple and a Pomegranate tree before the end of spring is... nearly impossible. If you picked Fruit Bats instead of Mushrooms, then you have a chance of doing this before the fall of the second year. Or you can get lucky and purchase one from the traveling cart. And then we come to the Rabbit's Foot. FFFFFffffffffffff..... pray you get one from the Traveling Cart. Rabbits have this strange reluctance to part with their feet. Jealous of them, I'm sure, but there you are.

Many of these resources are seasonal. Make sure you don't miss out on your chance to obtain them!

Crops: Parsnip, Green Bean, Cauliflower, and Potato are all needed for the Spring Bundle. Five gold-star parsnips needed for the quality crops bundle.

Grape, Spice Berry, and Sweat Pea are all needed for the summer forage bundle.

If your Apple Tree was done in time, an Apple is needed for the Artisan Bundle and three are needed for the Fodder Bundle

    Forage:
Common Mushroom, Wild Plum, Hazlenut, and Blackberry are all needed for the forage bundle

    Fish:

River - Catfish (raining), Shad (Raining), Tiger Trout, Walleye (Night, Raining, ONLY season they show!), Bream (night)
Lake - Largemouth Bass, Carp, Bullhead, Tiger Trout, Chub

    Fish:

River - Tiger Trout, Bream (Night)
Lake - Largemouth Bass, Bullhead, Sturgeon, Tiger Trout
    Ocean - Sardine, Tuna

There are certain items which you can obtain through the Traveling Cart on Friday and Sunday that can significantly reduce the amount of hassle you need. For example, finding a Duck Egg can let you finish off the Animal Goods bundle without needing to upgrade your coop! Here's a list of things that, if you see them on sale, is a good idea to grab.

    • Coconut (Exotic Forage bundle)
    • Cactus Fruit (Exotic Forage bundle)
    • Red Mushroom (Exotic Forage and Dye Bundle)
    • Purple Mushroom (Exotic Forage and Field Research bundle)
    • Pomegranate (Wizard bundle, also Artisan Bundle)
    • Cloth (Artisan Bundle)
    • Truffle (Chef Bundle)
    • Truffle Oil (Artisan Bundle)
    • Any tree-based fruits (Artisan bundle)
    • Wool (Animal bundle)
    • Duck Egg (Animal Bundle)
    • Duck Feather (Dye Bundle)
    • Rabbit Foot (Wizard Bundle)
    • Sandfish (Specialty Fish bundle)
    • Woodskip (Specialty Fish bundle)
    • Fire Quartz (Geologist's Bundle)
    • Fiddlehead Fern (Cook's Bundle)
    • Maki Roll (Cook's Bundle)
    • Red Cabbage (Dye Bundle, not available until Summer of year 2 normally)

    In Conclusion

I hope this guide has been helpful in your attempt to exorcise the community center and make the spirit of your grandfather pleased. With a bit of luck, you can finish off most of these by the end of year one, with only a few stragglers waiting for year two. In fact, if you can pick up the Red Cabbage, Pomegranate, and a Rabbit's Foot from the cart vendor, completing before the end of Winter on year 1 is entirely possible!

This is a nice guide, helps that it details where to get everything. Something worth mentioning though, is that there's actually a button in your inventory to check bundles! It's right above the "Organize" button. You still have to go to the CC to deposit everything, though.

You can get Large versions of both regular milk and goat's milk from the traveling cart, as well as goat cheese. It can be a bit of a wait getting your barn upgraded and your animals happy enough to start giving you Large versions of items, so buying them from the cart can also save time and money there as well.

Ghostfish can also pop up as a random drop from ghosts on the frozen levels of the mine. It's also very common to get a crab as a loot drop from the rock-crabs; so that saves you having to fish anything to finish the crab pot bundle. (When combined with beachcombing.)

Unless you get insanely lucky, though, you probably aren't going to get them all before your barn gets upgraded. And really, Cheese is one of the best foods available, which will really help with cave diving to get all the cave-based resources much faster. Half the time, I go for a Barn before a Coop for just this reason.

Maybe if you can get Large Goat's Milk and Goat Cheese, you can avoid upgrading the Barn until later. Unless you are romancing Leah, who absolutely LOVES Goat Cheese.

                    Noted and updated! Thanks!

The mentioning of the cart got me to go looking for this vendor and I noticed she only appears on Fridays and Sundays. I thought y'all were crazy for a bit when I went to find elusive goat cheese! I'm still in year one and didn't find this thread til today. I'm thinking it will be year 2 before I really get things rolling.

I noticed no one here has mentioned this. You can deposit the bundle items as you get them. There is no need to hold them in a chest until you get everything in the bundle.

This looks pretty good! Thanks for putting it together. Only thing I'd change is in the traveling cart section-- you mention in the bulletin board section that you can get apples etc. from the cart, but you don't mention in the cart section that the fruit from there can also be used in the various bulletin board bundles, just the artisan bundle.

True, although it's more time efficient to keep them in a chest until you have a bunch of things.

If anyone is interested, I put together a site for keeping track of your bundles (which I found to be a tad hard just using the in-game list): http://www.stardewcommunitychecklist.com/
