    So I may or may not have decided to make up a worm race... and with the help of @Sir Wilfrey , design this person.
    The Vermes (singular Verma) are a wormlike race, capable of squishing themselves into tight spaces. This capability, combined with their own determination to survive, makes them excellent engineers/mechanics/what-have-you. Though they don't especially like to dwell on it, the Vermes were the survivors of a nuclear attack on their own homeworld. They determined not to die, and so built spaceships, starting with whatever tech was left over from the fallout, to escape their now-barren home planet. (The colors on Sveta's jumpsuit are only an homage. This isn't meant to be a copy of a certain very popular video game.)
