RELEASED Build Your Own ship/ Sandbox Ship[Dead]

I combine this with the "Creative Mode" mod. Very useful. but yes having the original ship frame as editable would be nice, per race too but I know that may be asking a lot.

 

Wish the download file for this would work :<

 

Do you guys use any mods (eg. Creative Mode) to build these fantastic ships?

 

only thing we use is a tweeked save file; which is located at the start of the topic. Read the directions carefully.

 

Can you please post the download link with all the interior?

I thought attaching a download right to the forum is the safest way to keep it up, but oh well, dropbox is fine too. And you'll get the farm extension as well.

Edit: Hang in a second, the previous download works just fine. Get back at me if installing is the problem, I'm sure we can figure it out.

can you just edit the default ship with this? or does it wipe it when you install it

 

It wipes. That's why it's recommended to move all items planetbound.

The default uses sprites for the ship design, so unfortunately it's uneditable.

 

First off I want to thank you for creating this mod, I know it took a lot of time and effort to create. Keep up the great work.

 

PLEASE help soon... I can't find my Starbound folder in steamapps!?!?!

Edit: Nevermind. It says to go in C: but I put my steam folder in D : so C was just an old copy with all my old games from ages ago.

I made a ship as close to the starting ships as possible for people who want to have the ability to expand without starting with just a wooden box or one of these wonderful, but extravagant, ships. It has the same dimensions as the normal, unmodified ships, is made of pressurized steel and wall blocks, and has the same starting items in the chest as the wooden box ship that comes with the mod.

Can someone tell me how long your ship can be? Since it eventually wraps around to itself, I'd like to know how many blocks I can work with.

 

it is a 167 blocks wide and 82 blocks heigh grid and the teleporter sits quite exactly in the middle.

 

Well that sucks. I wanted to make a thousand block wide Star Destroyer replica.

 

Do you know how much that would lag? A ship that was going to barely fit in that space crashed the DirectX version of the game, when I was still in the building process. Plus 1000 blocks would be a pain to walk across.
