Mainly because it's not clear when someone should get one of these things. When it comes to me I have already dropped a couple of games/keys on the forum both in the form of giveaways and random drops and I didn't get any of these.

 

Somebody Has to recommend you for it, Mods don't go looking for them.

Look, there are just some people who have made a bunch of giveaways and didn't get a badge for it, hell, some of them weren't even nominated for doing it. The whole concept behind these two badges is highly unreliable and doesn't treat people equally, that's all I'm saying.
Still... I guess you could just nominate yourself but I'm not going to do it, it would feel weird :C

It's 34,000 words and incomplete. Rust, the author, also wrote The Ballad (and Legend) of Echo the Diamond Dog, and he's still active (but not much).

I'm not sure if anyone has posted this here yet, or if anyone cares, but registration for Bronycon next year is open, and that means the hotel room deals for con-goers are available.

 

Pretty cool but I won't be able to attend anyway.

You should read his Echo stories, while you're at it. They spawned a whole shared universe and everything. Also, since Boba Fett is after Celestia, he has his work cut out for him because Rust writes Celestia as a goddess.

If I have to pay upfront, then my chances of attending are approaching 0%. If not, they sill approach zero but I can do something about it.

 

The hotel deals will be available until July 4th, or until they run out of rooms in the block they set aside. Although the latter will obviously happen first, I have no idea how long it will be before it does. So the sooner the better.
And there is another hotel that is just a little ways further than the one I'm referring to, but it is still easily walking distance.

 

It was around March when they started running out of rooms with the hotels in the area, so there is quite a bit of time before things go belly up.
