He took 50,000 units of iron and 3,000 units of copper to keep his refineries repaired and in full working order. The radioactive materials were automatically used for fuel to supply the massive refineries.
He sold the slag to free up some space, getting 70k pixels out of it all. He used the pixels to strengthen and reinforce the machinery.
