By the way, where, exactly, are neural jacks usually located, and are they visible?

 

Normally the neck, and it depends on the kind of jack. Wired ones have a direct port, probably usually covered by plastic to prevent dust and stuff from getting in, while wireless ones usually have a bit of metal protruding, to get a signal.
