Any way to recover the seed for a tenant npc or trigger a specific quest?

i accidentally destroyed the deed to one of the oldest tenants in my colony(he was also my little brothers favourite) and saved/exited before i could copy the save files. any chance he's still floating around in a file somewhere or am i out of luck? he also had a heros cap so is there any way that i can trigger that quest for his replacement to get the same look?
