It was never confirmed that that would be implemented, but considering the rate at which Chucklefish is releasing updates, I wouldn't be surprised if we get a Starbound 2.0 update in august 2018 featuring it.
What if you can see other players ships, and then attack them! HOOOOLY HECK PIRACY! People could Literally become space pirates! Attacking merchant vessels and other players ships. This update is awesome! Keep up the good work Chucklefish!
Well, at the moment we don't even know that space combat is actually going to be a thing. But if that *is* part of the plan, then optional ship-to-ship PvP would be sensible. I'll guarantee they won't make it default, however, just like the way planet-side PvP is not default.
Aww...I was hoping for another blog post today. At least the Starbound team does a way better job with discussing what they're doing better than the TF2 team does
Soooo.... On those city planets... Look what ThatThunderCookie did! If the obvious issue is fixed, I think this already existing background could work as-is.... Maybe with coulourvariations on the buildings, but otherwise, this seems fine!
Close enough I guess.... Though, I'm worried about those Matter Manipulators for sale. They must be weaker than the Terrene Protectorate version right? Locked to only function in certain areas....
Very impressive work. Would love to see those things in the game. (Was a bit sad the nice Townbackground was only used once). My biggest thing yet was a "repairing" of one of these big crashed spaceship. (Looks now again like a working one) .
