Ah, of course. Well a good point of comparison would obviously be dogs, so I'll start there. I've never had a good experience with dogs, to be honest, they always seem to try to bite my trousers off when I'm casually taking a stroll, of if I try to pet one. Every. Single. Damn. Time. But, moving along, this makes me quite biased in the ongoing battle between dogs vs. cats.
I actually had a cat at a pretty young age. When I got him, the little furball, so tiny and lovable, we actually called him Taco. He always accompanied me, wherever I tried to go (which actually proved quite annoying sometimes). He was really affectionate, and it wasn't just with him. Whenever I would meet a friend's cat, for instance, they would be unusually comfortable around me (at least, by the owner's word).
Yes, it is possible for them to only bond with one person, but cats often bond to someone in specific for things such as playing, and petting. And some cats love everything and everyone.
