    THE NIGHT BEFORE STARBOUND
'Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the site
Not a sentence was posted, not even a byte.
Questions were posted on live chat with care,
In hopes that a release date soon would be there.
The users were nestled all snug in their beds,
While adventuring visions danced in their heads.
And Grohdok with his avi, and I in my hat
Had just settled down for a private Steam chat.
When up on the site there arose such a topic,
I sprang to the keyboard to act misanthropic.
Away to my browser I moved like a flash,
Tore open my wallet and threw lots of cash.
The pics on the post of the newly-seen thread
Gave the lustre of midday to the words I had read.
When what, to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature livestream, and a button: "WATCH HERE."
With an awesome old beard, so lively and furry,
I knew in a moment it must be Tiyuri.
More rapid than eagles his subscribers they came,
And he whistled and shouted and called them by name!
"Now, Mindswipe! Now, Suika! Now, Spike and Sprocket!
On, Snowman! On, Bio! On, Saal and Pigrocket!
To the end of the stream! Till the end of the year!
Now post away, post away, post away here!"
As stardust before planets' magnetic pull,
When they meet with auroras, light up in full.
So up in their numbers the topic views flew
With hints from the livestream, and Tiyuri too.
And then, with an alert, I saw on that thread,
The hintings and rumors from each Starbound dev.
As I drew in my breath, and moused over "Reply",
Here with a bound came good old Tiy.
The sprites- How they twinkled! The starships- How classy!
The bosses were vicious, the pets were like Lassie!
The game was like it had been wrapped in a bow,
Waiting for us to tread new-fallen snow.
And with all that news, hiding underneath
Was Tiy's avi, his scarf 'round his head like a wreath.
He had a broad hat and an awesome round beard,
and fish would start raining whenever he neared!
He sat patient and silent, waiting for questions,
And I stopped there in spite of my constant requesting.
And all of those replies and all that he said,
Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread.
He said not much more, he must get back to work,
He answered more questions and ignored the jerks.
And laying his cursor aside of the tab,
And clicking the mouse, the X button he grabbed.
He sprang to his Skype bar, to his team gave a whistle,
And off they all logged like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him exclaim, as the ending grew 'ere,
"She said, 'You're moving with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air.'"

I was hoping somebody would do something like this! I had considered doing something similar for How The Grinch Stole Christmas, as Dr. Seuss has always been a favorite poet of mine, but in the end I went with an original work.

I wish you well in this contest!
