The City Planet of San Leone

To commemorate my main project, I made a "tour" of my home planet, which some may know from my screenshot thread. I'll post the different parts in the coming days/weeks.

This is the city center of my home planet San Leone, the capital of the Republic of San Leone. You may know San Clemente, which is a colony in the Republic of San Leone.

The spawn point takes place in a hall of columns, which are part of the opera. As you know, music is an important part for my Starbound life. San Leone is a city of art and culture, and as such, it's logical that you don't start in a political or military institution, but the heart of culture.

We go left. The first building is the Post office; here I gather all my materials/items/objects and store them for a later use. Here is also the Underground Skyrail Station A-1. The whole planet is tunneled with an excellent network of skyrails; but I want to show that in another video.

Further left, we encounter the so-called Twin Towers with a pond and a park in the middle. It’s an attractive address for artists and scientists.

The next building is the Library, as you may have noticed from the vast amount of books. I couldn't show it in the video, but I have stored my codices from my journey here.

After that, the high halls of the University welcome us. As always, our students are busy (or dancing in the main hall). Note the telescope in the dome; it's one of my favorite details.

The main piazza in the heart of San Leone is our next station. Two major statues of lions surround the market place. This is - in my opinion - one of the most beautiful things I was able to do, especially because I simply LOVE lions. Still searching for a modder who may integrate my ideas for a custom race...

The Market Place is surrounded by a little tavern on the right (with a cooling room in the basement and hotel rooms upstairs). On the other side, the market hall of San Leone is open to every travelling merchant who trades with different products in the galaxy.

After that, a little bureau of the Ziani Corp. - the powerful mining corporation of the Republic - and some private houses are the next goals on our tour. Don't think that this bureau is everything! The Ziani Corp. is a powerful organisation, having its main bureau on the other side of the planet (the Ziani Tower).

After a visit on the Armour Bridge - it has it name from the armour and weapons I store in the big chests under the towers - and a hello to the local tool maker, we visit one of the most famous places of the whole Republic.

We visit the Mausoleum of important and prominent persons of the republic - politicans, artists, scientists - and then we reach the Cathedral of San Leone! Have a look at this magnificent work of Sandstone brick, Soft brick, and beautiful ornaments! The huge dome! The towers! This is truly a piece of great San Leonese art!

This is the second part of the tour de San Leone.

First, we'll have a wonderful walk in the glorious palaces of Western San Leone, here, where the upper-class live in palaces in the style of the Renaissance and Baroque era. They are heavily inspired by Venetian palazzi (San Leone is a trade republic; the upper class consist of merchants, like in Venice).

After this walk, we have a look at the Archaeological museum. This is also the place where my character works. Beatrice Memmo is an intergalactic archaeologist, who made remarkable expeditions and discoveries.

Behind the Museum, the Grand Hotel for guests from the whole galaxy is open for anyone. It lays in the middle between the Botanic Garden and the City Park.

After a short walk through the Green, we reach Northern San Leone: the autonomous Glitch Kingdom. Two towers and a light fire mark the frontier of this part of the republic. The Glitch live in peace with the Humans - they lived here long before the humans arrived - but both respect their area.
