Stable should be out "today" according to Tiy!

My starbound just updated... could it be? already?!

 

Tiy said that, then starboundgame said "We're hours away from a massive update! Let's give away some keys," then their facebook said "The long-awaited stable update is finally dropping later today, along with a 25% off sale on Steam. Get ready for it!"

Yes, to me, that means they're sure of themselves.

 

Mine updated too something, when I was in unstable, but the stable branch is still 2014 April 24.

so being opted in unstable wont update stable branch?
wouldn't we lose our characters since it would rollback or something? im... just gonna wait till they released the stable update....

 

I'm under the impression that you only have one version of Starbound active at a time, but I might be wrong. And I don't think you'll lose your characters from unstable since all that is saved in the starbound_unstable folder, separately, but either way, I backed it up just in case.

Dont worry, if you read Jbeetle's reply it seems they are indeed rather sure of releasing it today (the starboundgame twitter and facebook updates i didnt know about).

 

The stable saves to "My Documents" while Unstable (and nightly I believe) save to the Starbound installed folder within C: (or wherever you installed it), so you won't lose your characters/worlds from switching because they're saved in completely different areas and do not effect one another.

 

If memory serves me right, updating this game downloaded all versions for all operating systems. Is this still the case?[DOUBLEPOST=1422458572][/DOUBLEPOST]That's a relief.

Alsso no, that'ss not even closse to what it meanss, not by a longshot.
It meanss that they are feeling hopeful that it will releasse today.

The most realisstic to assssume would be that it will releasse within the next 5 dayss.

I mean, there was a tweet a while ago saying "We're hours away from a massive update!" So it is realistic to assume today is when its coming out.
On the other hand this is the kind of reply I get when I have mentioned it coming anytime soon to my friends. "I'll believe it when I see it" "'This week'? So we'll see it in a few months?" Its a shame thats the impression Chucklefish have given themselves.
