Like the title says, races could habe different music they play, like humans have violins or whatever, apex have drums, avians have flutes, robots could have techno music, and I dunno what the hylotl could have. You could find them playing when you come into a bar or house. Your thoughts on this?
Aren't planets going to have their own theme songs that play in the background?...If there are bars/inns, I think that race-specific music would add some nice atmosphere.
agreed, kinda like the zelda franchise, and the possibility of similar mechanics with music like ocarina
Why is there restriction on the music a race has? Don't like that idea at all, but with the whole "music when you enter a building" concept sounds fine.
I can see a main theme for each race, playing in their ship at the start, when they are alone. Then, new NPCs you add or even friends visiting your ship would add tracks to the 'playlist' of the ship, and then the track playing would be random.
That brings me on the idea of having discos or parties. It would be awesome to have a randomized playlist.
I like the idea of different races specialising in a particular instrument, maybe with NPC's randomly getting one out and playing with it. But like Chippo stated earlier I'm not too keen on the idea of them getting stuck with that instrument. Maybe instead of specific instrument, make it instrument type, like Wind, Percussion, String, Brass, etc Or music style, like Tribal, Celtic, Classical, Jazz etc. and maybe have it so that they still play other types, but have a higher chance to play the one their race is specialised in. Also, if player music is implemented, maybe make it sort of LotRO style, where you have to be trained in the instrument or style first. But make it so that other races can teach you their specialisation instrument/style.
Probably nice, but like in Terraria, you must be allowed to change the media in the jukebox. But to areas like a random planet with an underwater canteena. I would want to hear like buffered sounds (like soundwaves of flutes with some vibration interference from water) for Hlotls.
