EDIT: Download the mod here http://www.nexusmods.com/starbound/mods/60 Content Below is Old Content: With so many extended ship mods out there I figured I'd try something different. So for this weeks Invention Exchange I started work on a starbound version of The Satellite of Love. Still have a lot of detailing to do, but I'm pretty happy with the general layout so far. Should be done this week - suggestions welcome!
In game objects complete... but who is this come to save us? Could it be? (Zap Rowsdower hairstyle was a must) I'm still not sure what to put on the main view screen (or whether to remove it and add it as an object) Onto the engines!
Perhaps consider doing more than copy/paste in the ship mechanics? I know it's difficult, but some of us like to use that as the background. Also, what race is this coded for? Humans, or all?
Humans - but it's easy to modify to any race - you just need to change a folder name within the zip (instructions are in the zip file) The copy and paste is to keep it looking and feeling similar to other ships - Not sure what you mean by this though Mod is released: http://www.nexusmods.com/starbound/mods/60
Sadly they had to gut the old girl to get her ready for FTL travel. But there are rumors of an upcoming quest chain that visits some old friends and ends in recovery and installation of a new theatre to the SOL. We'll see what the future brings
"In the not to distant future...next Sunday AD..." Truly, truly silly. And totally awesome. Personally I'd patch it up with a few more lights and some windows on the bottom row, but that's just me. Very well done.
These install instructions should be better Ship Installation To Enabling Mod Loading: (skip this if you have a mod loader/ have already enabled mod loading) The easiest way to run mods in starboud is by editing the bootstrap.config file. You can find this at: Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\win32\bootstrap.config open this file with notepad and change it so it looks as follows: Code: { "assetSources" : [ "../assets", "../mods" ], "storageDirectory" : ".." } save it. You have now enabled Starbound for modding - any mods that you are told to install into the assets folder can now be installed to the mod folder at: Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\mods\ To Install the Mod: Copy the Contents of the zip file to your mod directory The mod is now installed. Any new Human will start with the custom ship. Installing on an existing Character Once installed it is possible to load the mod onto an existing character HOWEVER it involves deleting your player shipworld file - you will lose EVERYTHING on that ship when you delet it. So make sure you remove all items before trying this. To reset your ship: go to the folder Steam\steamapps\common\Starbound\Player\ If you have multiple characters you'll see lots of files in this folder. What we need to do is find your players .shipworld file. open up the first .player file with notepad (it shoudl have a weird filename such as 0c1a5b7479eb79c9384b43fe65efce1c.player) it'll be full of special characters but you are looking for your characters name within the mess. If you see your name then you have found your players ID! If not - move to the next.player file Find the .shipworld file with the same filename as the .player file and delete it (you may want to back it up just in case - just NOT in this folder!) Now when you next log into the game you should now have the new ship! Enjoy!
Cant get it working. Its just not loading. And if I try to replace the assets file of the human ship, I get "Server Connection is no longer valid" when I try to load a SINGLE PLAYER game.
Love this mod! The sprite work on the bots its really nice. Any plans on updating it to the current release or adding other MST3K content?
