    Mobile Multidimensional Mech Bases (M³:cool:

!Attention! this morning we received a distress signal from one of our outposts. They encountered highly advanced mechanical forces using sophisticated self-sustaining mobile bases.

While gathering rare minerals our engineers got ambushed by a large and aggressive mobile base which apparently were looking for those resources to supply their frontlines aswell.
The base were initially floating above our mining grounds and a few drones scanned the area and underground as suddenly they detected our units and without a warning turned hostile.
Our local commander reported the structure as being surrounded from some kind of energy field, advanced and versatile weaponary and different drone types before they had to abandone the outpost.

Here is what our survivors transmitted.

We were sending reinforcement to strike back and the fight took long and consumed various resources. It was possible to take down that mobile base for the high prize of 13 valuable soldiers and what we learned is that we should not underestimate those enemies in the future.

After shooting the base down we discovered the biggest secret, the energy field did not just secure what is within, but also compress it …
Scientists were scanning the remainings and figure out that the energy field serves as "portal to another dimension" they said. This way the mobile base can carry more payload and the "inside" can hold a multitude of what the outside volume would suggest. While the diameter from the outside was roughly 6 meters, in the inside it was about 30 meters. All packed with reactor, drone bay, weapon rooms, control room, storage room and many more. Most important for us was the control room which contained a database of valuable informations our engineers quickly begun to extract, yet the ships internal self-destruction - which we nearly overlooked - crossed our plans so we had to abandone the ship way too early.
But here is what we got…

It appears that this mobile base were small to medium sized. Here are the smallest and biggest ship visualised we could find in their database:
    sizecomparison.jpg
The mobile bases are build upon a center in different shapes:
    elementBase.jpg
where each segment appears to serve different functions. Some are build for combat while others are build mainly for mining.
The round center is the allrounder among the center segments.
The rectangle is build for damage, it should be taken out quickly or fought from the inside.
The triangle is build for mining trips and mainly uses drones.
The hexagon is the most resistang and durable center.

Different mobile attachments were found within their database...
    elementMobility.jpg
Thrusters: Those we encountered initially. They grant a high mobility but highly limit the combat capabilities. Damage the thruster to take it down temporarily.
Crawler: Similar to our tries in mechanical mobility platforms for difficulty terrain but more advanced. Medium mobility and high combat capabilities. Damage the legs to disable it temporarily.
Worm: This strange combination caused confusion among our engineers. It shall have good mobility while maintaining high combat capabilities. Hard to catch, so fight it from within when possible.
Carrier: The carrier attachment heavily relies on drones to pick the mobile base up and carry it around. Even though it has low mobility and medium combat capabilities, it usually comes with stronger drone bays. Shoot down the carrying drones to pin this base down.
Teleport: Caution! This mobility attachment grants medium-high mobility and extreme combat abilities. Troops should abuse the fact that the teleport drives need to charge before jumping and also require a fairly long recharge.

We could not recover all weapon informations but what we got so far:
    weaponMinigun.jpg
Minigun: This is a fast shooting projectile based weapon with low damage per projectile.
    weaponRailgun.jpg
Railgun: A projectile based weapon shooting extremely fast projectiles at low fire rates. They show slow, but when they hit, they hurt!
    weaponTesla.jpg
Tesla: This weapon is shooting pure electricity hitting with the speed of light and low damage but slowing its targets down.
    weaponShockwaveGenerator.jpg
Shockwave generator: Bundling shockwaves in sonic capacitors enables this weapon to release a strong but slow moving shockwave knocking everything in its path back. The shockwave is increasing in size but decreasing in strength and travel speed over time.
    weaponOrbLauncher.jpg
Orb Launcher: This weapon is shooting very slow moving but highly damaging orbs.
    weaponProximityMineLauncher.jpg
Proximity Mine Launcher: This weapon takes a pretty passive and defensive role. It is shooting high damaging proximity mines that explode when a hostile comes too close. They are going off quickly so dont get too close.

Some informations indicate that the mechs are currently researching a new weapons technology. When the datas are right, this technology is able to go through solid matter which lead to our engineers calling it "Phantom weapons" and are feasible as fast and weak but also as slow and strong variant. Lets hope these weapons wont become real …

We also discovered a prototype of some kind of "teleporting weapon", we yet dont know why they would use teleporters as weapons but we should keep our eyes open.

The ships interior is similar to an advanced dungeon with internal security and defense mechanisms and cosists of the following elements:
reactor: This is the main source of energy. When all reactors get destoryed, the base is disabled and can not fight anymore. Hacking a reactor will disable it for a few seconds. For each destroyed or hacked reactor the bases efficency is decreased (efficency = active reactors / total reactors).
storage room: Valuable items are stored here within lockers. They usually get unlocked through getting hacked or when the base gets destroyed.
drone bay: Here drones get constructed. Destroy this room to temprorarly halt the bases drones construction from this drone bay.
control room: Within this room a skilled hacker or well placed explosives can reduce the bases offensive abilities. Beware, this room is highly guarded.
security room: Destorying or hacking this room will greatly weaken the internal defense system.
weapon control: Destroying or hacking this room will disable the corresponding weapon.
prison room: This room appears to have a build-in damping field to suppress the weaponfire from within that room. Escaping such a room without help will most likely be a long or near impossible task, however you will get trapped in here, you better avoid it. Hacking or damaging the room from within will be less effective than from outside the room (damping field).

Before the self-destruction of that mobile base, some engineers also discovered different other modules they believe are customizable aswell. Even though we did not have time to examine those modules, we evolved some theories:
Drone uplink: An antenna on top of the base. We think that this will increase drones efficency due to centralized computation and better communications leading to drone formations.
Capacitor pack: A back of capacitors storing additional energy used for primary weapons.
other modules are not known so far…

Most importantly, the mechs were heavily using drones in order to fight. We encountered 3 types so far:
    droneAttack.jpg
attacking drones: Those drones can carry smaller versions of mech weapons to attack foes.
    droneShield.jpg
shielding drones: Those drones got a mounted shield allowing them to block attacks.
    droneRepair.jpg
repair drones: Those drones repair damaged drones and modules.
