If Pikmin has taught us anything, it's that the first thing to do after being stranded on a strange planet following a tragedy is seek out the local indigenous population and use them as a labor army to eek out a living, making the surround areas your own until you can go back into space and do the same to another planet. This indigenous population may end up being Penguins or some alien variation.

 

Collect resources and build myself a shelter. I need to have a place where I can ensure that I am safe and where I can think of what to do and how I can survive there.
Later I would do exploration, but I would build a shelter first. There's nothing more wasteful than dying the first night you've got there.

EDIT: This would happen AFTER I got on the Space Station etc., just to make my story fit with the actual intro of Starbound.

 

It's already been said that after ya flee your Homeworld's Destruction, you end up at a battered, abandoned Space Station. With this in mind, I will first secure the Space Station, then prep for my first Planetary Exploration, then seek a Crystal Planet & Harvest Crystal Resources the second it's tactically survivable & viable.

 

No equipment? None? Unless you can attack by punching and be able to scoop out ore with your bare hands, you can't do
ANYTHING without equipment.

Anyway, so if I has like the lowest levelest equipment, I would gather wood, build a small but secure shelter and then go mining for ore and other materials so I can build a spaceship!

 

Yeah sorry I should clear that up, your basic tools you would start with.

Ah! How could I forget about that? That's indeed what's going to happen!

I would probably do the same thing - secure and maintain the Space Station for a bit before I would start exploring.

 

I would start enslaving the populace and absorb their souls.

 

Secure my space station, find and convince (manipulate with neurotoxins) some allies (slaves), get back to station, request help from the race (threaten them with death) to help me get back on my feet (put them to work at factories), explore some planets (and repeat the things said before) and when I am strong enough, find out who blew up my planet, find them and persuade them to appologize (kill em all). After that, I will retire and build myself a nice house to live in (take over the galaxy and destroy planets/solar systems for my own amusement).

That is how I will become the hero of the universe (the great lord of seven hells and bringer of destruction) and... thats about it.
Game over.

find a good npc race and join them for the time being until they give me good stuff and then i destroy them. evil aren't i?

I would run around amazed, then chop some wood and create a small hut.

WITH FRIENDS!

 

Dig straight down until something kills me, spawn back up, move about 100 feet away and then do it again.

 

Dig and dig and dig until I have enough living space. I will then proceed to make a mining colony. All of this will be on a Crystal planet of course (for the music).

2. Search for the perfect pet creature to be by my side.
3. Stay inside wooden shelter.
4. ???
