Recently as most of you know, YouTube is changing their policy involved in copyright strikes. I was wanting to just stress the point that if Chucklefish wishes so, to let YouTube know that channels with Starbound Gameplay/Tutorials/Showcase videos should NOT receive copy right. I'm sure that Chucklefish wants their game to be well known and enjoyed. This is spread out through the works of YouTube as I personally found out about the game through a YouTuber named Etho. My point is that Starbound should be on YouTube without peoples' hard work being wasted. My point is justified since a subscriber base of thousands of people would instantly be notified of Starbound's existence once a video is uploaded. So if you so wish, Chucklefish, PLEASE contact YouTube know that your gameplay should NOT be flagged and be taken down. This community THRIVES off of youtube. I love the gameplays just about as much as playing it myself. Oh, and by the way, your game is F***ing awesome keep up the work. Thank You For Your Time ~FuRySnipes
I totally agree, I hope this new YouTube change because of people using copyright music will make gaming companies change their mind about monetizing if they aren't allowing it.
Yea, I wouldn't like to get a copy right strike because I have game music in the back ground ;_; such little things youtube is stupid for.
The developers have already said on their FAQs page on the main site that it's okay to upload to youtube
Yes true, But the problem is YOUTUBE its self. They don't go to game developers' websites and check things. They just run filters for everything. Chucklefish will have to tell them in some sort of email/video on youtube or something
I think they're aware about the issue with Youtube's Content ID system, plus I don't think I've heard anyone's Starbound videos been taken down, yet.
Yeah one of my videos had a copyright claim with this weird trance like music supposedly as the claimed content. compared the two audio's and no, nothing similar. Oh well, in the process of yelling at youtube
I am surprised with the game just being in Beta and all that they are hitting people with strikes all ready. (To the OP, Hooah! )
Synox-Presence (Original Mix) Is the song that youtube flagged my video for having, which included nothing but commentary and gameplay (with sound) I listened to the track and I could not draw a connection.
The Starbound team has the page granting permission to use their content in videos (linked above by Active Link) - just dispute the claim and link to the Starbound FAQ stating that you have permission to post the content owned by the copyright holder. I'd assume that the majority of these are actually the Content ID system derping and mistaking the content for non-Starbound content.
This might be a little late, but YouTube says that if you can provide proof to monetize / use game play, and it is correct proof, you can. So, use this link - http://community.playstarbound.com/...tube-copyright-please-let-youtube-know.50518/
yea I hope they do change its hurting some companies and also alot of youtubers that made youtube what it is today
