RELEASED Your Starbound Crew 4.98

I installed the mod for the first time yesterday with a friend, we got the first "Find Lovejones" quest from the outpost, but we could not deploy to it.
It would shift to the new loading screen for a few seconds, then bring us back to our own ships. Both in multiplayer and singleplayer.

I uninstalled it for now since I never used it and I can't do anything with it yet.
Hopefully this isn't a common thing and I'm not doing/saying something derpy.

 

the reason is because starbound just updated. Wait til its up to date, eh?

 

Well, its my first time using mods on SB, so I have no idea if how bad they break mods with their updates.
I had the same problem with Frackin' Universe, and the fix seems simple enough.
For insight on the issue/fix, refer to that mods thread.

 

This is my favorite mod and I won't play the new update until this one has been updated !

All my thanks to the author for his amazing work, his new mod also looks amazing and I can't wait to play with both combined.

Same here, this has become a must-have mod for me and I can't wait to combine it with Starbound Side Stories.

Hya Luminae; Just wanted to let you know that the mod (as is) is NOT compatible with the new stable update from Starbound anymore if you do a full Univers/Character/Mod-wipe in regards to the new stable update from Starbound. You can still acquire missions like "Find LoveJones" but once you select deploy on any mission you simply get warped back to your ship....I'm sure you're already working on patching this but JUST in case you didn't know yet...well...hereby you do

SOLVED

1. In your ~giraffe_storage/mods/YourStarboundCrew folder, duplicate the file unique_worlds.config.patch
2. Rename the duplicate instance_worlds.config.patch
3. Restart Starbound or type /reload in the chat window
4. Enjoy finding Love Jones

Note: I'm on unstable, not stable

EDITED - I was seeing this [and then I removed the YSC mod and now], but 'Finding Love Jones' has a problem that just opening SAIL crashes my game [which is not the mod's fault, but people should know that removing the mod if you have the problem AshPrinner describes will make maters worse, not better)

Additional note - Reinstalling the mod fixes the crash

I'm seeing this error

as well now that I can do the Love Jones quest -- It looks like there were some significant changes to the init method in the npcs/main.lua script - including the addition of

... which was not in the same file of the first giraffe release.

This isn't a problem with Luminaesthesia's other mod, so I'm guessing they are able to fix it, but I'm not sure how much is involved in that particular fix (I spent a little time looking through the files and I can't figure out where the position would be specified (I'm assuming it's in the /YSC/npcs/crewmate.npctype file, but I'm not sure.


When I put the spawner down and left my ship, this error was generated when I returned:

So to fix the First Mate's spawner, you need to add one line to the file YourStarboundCrew/npcs/crewmate.npctype one line after "/npcs/main.lua",

so that

Love the update! This mod and your Starbound Side Stories mod make the game feel so alive and full, not just an empty universe for me to raid and plunder.

 

Say, I'm having a little trouble finding Love-Jones. Would anyone care to give me a hint?

Edit: I've been all over the asteroid that you beam into when answering the distress call. I've found the ruins of an outpost, but there's nothing there. Also found a small room down below with a bed, but again nothing.

 

If you continue past the ruins up top of the asteroid, you'll come across an Infinity Express shop. Love-Jones is hiding inside

Past that is a teleporter to get back to your ship afterwards.
