  1. Freyon

    Hey there. First of all let me say that I love the premise and execution of this mod. Though there's obviously room for improvement, I very much enjoy all features and improvements of this mod.

    First of all, a complaint. Crafting. The NPCs wander around, and this causes the crafting window for their respective crafting stuff to close. Meaning I can't view their crafting lists without trapping them in blocks first... Consider a specific crafting station for each crew member, or a version of them that doesn't move about, please. I'm using the latest version of the Stable release, if it makes any difference.

    Second, bugs! These two happen with the crewmembers' missions.

    1) First its the bounty hunter's dungeon. The very first one if there's more than one. I went down 3 floors, and later decided to head back. Taking the first teleport at the start of level 3 took me to the previous level (level 2) and taking the first teleport from level 2 just took me back to level 3. The only way for me to go back to my ship was to close save quit and start again.

    2) Goldobot's Garden. Trying to enter this mission causes my entire system to freeze. Not crash to the desktop, simply freeze. Forcing a hard reset. I'm using windows 8.1 x64, latest updates, and playing the game with openGL. Tested both 32bit and 64bit versions of OpenGL client and they both cause a total system freeze, making this mission completely unplayable and dangerous.

    I'll write a proper review once I'm done running through the whole content, or at least the content I can actually get through.

    Every time I try to go to the explorer's club Starbound completely crashes. I am running it on a server, and do have Frackin Universe installed (which I know this mod and FU do have occasional compatibility issues). Is there any known problems with running this on a server? I can post the relevant portion of the logs if needed, but I can tell you it seems to be freaking out over trying to place the dungeon objects.

    OK nub question, I just got the mod if i use coordinates from a vanilla starbound will it take me to the same planet. For example if someone gave me coordinates to the avian airship and i go there with the modded version will it be the same planet. Also to go to race specific planets do i have to generate a new universe or just part of the a new universe

    Have the same problem as well as the users about me.

    The Garden Mission crash my whole System.......-.- must use the Reset Button on my Pc to restart the System. Alt+F4 and Taskmanager are Useless with this Bug

    I cant seem to find Divewing to add to my crew at the dig site. I have gone over the place multiple times and find that when i get to one of the grave areas there is a large monster and a pile of pixels. Is he being eaten before i can get to him?

    The moment I spawned in his planet, I spawned underground which leaves me unable to move and get out.
    is there anyway I can bypass this?

    Loving the mod! I only have one issue, which a lot of other people have mentioned: It's extremely difficult to purchase anything from crew members, as they walk around and close the shop ui every 2 seconds.

    I'm pretty sure forgetPlayerTime governs how long they idle staring at you before running off. Honestly, they need their own config that makes them more likely to stand still/sit the fuck down than vanilla AI. Also a larger script delta because D:

    I've been thinking of making cells for my crew, to keep them in place for purchases. Since they did away with doing things thru walls, I have to work out a new way. Before I just sealed them in a 2x4 square to keep them from running around.

    Really enjoying the mod and the additions it makes, though I have to agree, yes, it does appear that there are some things that can be fixed which have already been addressed. Goldobot's garden (Which effectively freezes my system on activation), and the fact that the NPCs move when trying to use their shop/crafting window. I have yet to encounter the other issues but am worried for whenever I get to that point.

    I want to start off by saying this mod is really great and I love the new quests it adds. It really gives more to do in the game, both as you progress and when you've run out of other things to do - and I haven't even finished all the quests yet!

    However, there are a few things that I feel should be addressed, for the sake of improving the mod. Here goes nothing....

    1) Some 'specialty' items available from crew members, such as the emergency teleporter, the three outpost teleporters, and "your locker" are available in the 3D pixel printer on your ship for a ridiculously low price - the outpost teleporters are available for 1 pixel each(I'm assuming this was a debug recipe of some kind), and the emergency teleporter/your locker can be obtained with only the pixel requirement(600 and 400 pixels respectively). Wouldn't be much of an issue, except crafting at least the emergency teleporter with Lovejones actually costs MORE than the 3D printer version, as the pixel requirement is the same(600 pixels) but also needs extra crafting materials. As such, it's kind of pointless currently to spend the core fragments/diamond/etc on the teleporter at your first mate, because you can get it from the 3D printer on your ship for much cheaper, and it's far too easy to get both this and the 'Your Locker' item in bulk when you save up your pixels. I have a feeling this wasn't intended, and if it was, then it might be best to at least increase the pixel cost at the 3D printer...

    2) It's already been mentioned, but crew members tend to wander around like crazy even when you're talking to them, which makes it extremely irksome to try and buy/craft stuff with their help.

    3) A while ago, I'd tested something on my starter planet because I didn't have a base or ship big enough to house a crew(or the crew outpost unlocked) - the doctor NPC was never attacked by monsters, but the architect I had spawned eventually fell prey to them. I don't know whether this was coincidence and they are SUPPOSED to be attackable by monsters(hence motivation to build a base/house for them), or whether they are supposed to be invincible to anyone but the player. Just thought I'd mention it just in case.

    4) Another thing that has already been mentioned: some crew missions aren't working properly. Namely, Goldobot's Garden causes the game to stop loading because of a massive string of "could not place dungeon item (coordinates here)" or something like that in the log. It didn't CRASH, but nothing would work and the game could not be closed unless it was forced. If it was on my server's end, the server itself would completely crash. And in addition to that, when I attempted to teleport into the Hunting Grounds mission area, I spawned outside of the area(far below the environment platform stuff) and instantly died. I haven't tried the other "special" missions, but it might be worth checking if they're in working order or not.

    5) I mentioned it in a previous post, I think, but I am not sure whether it was seen or not despite another person having confirmed it - it's not uncommon that when starting a new universe with this mod installed, the starting Garden planet turns out to be in an Unstable star system, which.... kind of makes it impossible to survive on for beginning players, considering the difficulty range. I'm guessing this has something to do with the game checking for a starting biome as a Garden without checking whether the difficulty level is "harmless", and in order to play the game after that, I had to remove the mod, generate the universe, and then put it back in - after which it worked fine.

    6) There are still quests that reference holiday crafting stations(namely the valentines and winter holidays ones) that are not craftable, even though I'm pretty sure I saw in a changelog at some point that they were supposed to be enabled again for the quests(did I imagine that?). The fossil station is there again, but the special holiday ones aren't. Unless you go into admin mode and cheat in the items in question(or install another mod that somehow enables their crafting again), it's currently impossible to finish those quests.

    That's all I can think of at the moment. I figured I'd just note all of these down for now, and if I experience more issues related to this mod, I'll see if I can grab the log file for you when it becomes relevant.

    Oh, and thanks for creating and maintaining this mod, it's been a lot of fun playing around with it on a private server with some friends.

    In case it helps in isolating the problem, I can see why Goldobot's Garden is crashing. It's triggering some sort of (severe) memory leak -- upon entering the mission, the game's memory usage shoots up at a rate of about 500 MB/sec until the system's memory is exhausted, at which point the computer soft-freezes.
