lol, there is a bluish white arrow in the upper right of the screen when you are on the surface of a planet, even one block down and you will not see the icon to click to go back up. It is by your codex, crafting buttons, etc. There is a gap in the icons up there when you are underground... Just click it when it is up, also it requires a clear view up. Can't teleport through the roof...

I'm more retarded, missed this had been answered much simpler than I... hehehe

 

I'm no longer sure. I can't actually find a Developer post referencing this, it seems to be some kind of issue though. I was getting the same world spawns on a Mac machine as everyone on the coordinate sharing forum before the Angry Koala patch, and I was also getting these same world spawns when I visited a Windows hosted server. (I'm on a Mac 10.8.5) Now however, they don't match up and everyone is telling me they never do or will. But they did. Previously. I was logging in on my local Mac machine, then going to a neat world, logging out, logging into the Windows server and plugging in the Cords, the same world would generate and I'd take my friends there.

I can't anymore. It was suggested I try to verify that all my patches installed correctly, someone else asked about this same thing in the help/support forum.

I'm new to this forum and have no idea what I'm doing so If I'm breaking a rule please tell me and I'll fix it right away.

Anyways I got both Starbound and the Starbound Soundtrack (4.99) I know that the actual website sells both for $15 while Steam sells it for $15 and extra $5 for the Soundtrack but the only way I can buy things on steam is through Steam cards. Anyways the Soundtrack and I have no idea what it does. It says it adds more soundtracks does that mean that the game only has a few soundtracks but when you buy the pack it adds a bunch more? And does it just automatically play when you enter new areas?

The BETA purchase gives you access to the soundtrack, but they added the soundtrack to Steam for purchase for people who wanted to support the music makers. It does not affect the sound in game at all.

Hello, my Aunt purchased a silver tier preorder package for me on December 12th. She said she gifted it to my email and received a paypal receipt(which she forwarded to me).

I still have not received a steam key, or any kind of email indicating it was sent to me. She says she has also not received another email.

Ok, i have a question, im playing the game right now, desparately trying to figure out how the heck you place objects in the background. I havent found a way to craft say, Wooden Wall Blocks like in Terraria. Am i missing something? Do i need something other than a crafting table to make background wall blocks?

Ive tried to rightclick while placing something like Wooden Planks, but it doesnt place them in the background. Am i missing something? do i have to place the walls from the ground up? It would be nice if there was some sort of Tutorial World that was on the main menu that would teach you the basics on how to play the game. I knew most of the controls from Terraria, but since ive been playing alot of Minecraft. I expected E to be my Inventory, and I to do nothing. I is a very awkward key for me to hit to acess my inventory, as i dont use a 100% normal keyboard. I hope plans are in place for keybind remapping because this is really an awkward game to play right now without being able to easily remap my keybinds.

Edit: Ok, finally placed my walls down. It does work, i just had to start from the ground up...

 

I got an in-game question:
Is it possible to place only 1x1 block of a random material (lets say, dirt) instead of the 2x2 it does now?
The same goes for mining: I can only mine 3x 3. Cant I change this somehow?

There are plenty of tutorials on youtube to get you started. There is also instructions in your Journal/codex.

Keybinding is something they are working on... It was stated a few weeks ago that work had begun on it.

 

Not to dog the Chucklefish team or anything i love this game to death. But you would think Keybinding would be one of the first things to work on because you want everyone to be able to play it with whatever keymapping they want. But since this game is a huge undertaking and Chucklefish is doing it so masterfully, you would think that Keybinding, and Code Optimisation would be #1 priority before adding New content. There's already 200+ hours of planet exploring, mining, and boss fighting to do, why not optimise the code and give us a rudamentary feature like keybinding.

 

Hi. I have a question, starbound work very slow, how i can resolve this problem?

 

First, check if your PC meets minimum requirements. Then, check if there arent any driver updates for your PC. if neither of those fix it, buy a new PC.

 

Not a big problem but everytime I start a new character my health always has 1 bar gone so I there liks 10 bars which is 100 health, I start with 9/10 bars so I lose a bit of my HP. Not a big deal but bothers me did I mess up or something?

Are worlds SUPPOSED to be shared between my characters? Like when I do or destroy something on a planet (say Alpha Senet Majoris I a) on my Florian and then I go back to that same planet on my Glitch the world is already looted. Please tell me this isn't a feature of the game and this will be changed. This means valuable items and blueprints can't be obtained by two different characters.

 

HELP ME I'm a avian and when I go to a temple other Avians start attacking me because I'm not a stargazer, will this be the same with avian villiges?
