Will multiplayer be like Terraria where we type the IP and Port numbers? I can no longer host game servers that require those because my router won't port forward until Comcast can update it. Will it be as simple as clicking "host game" and your Steam friends can simply join in without punching in numbers?

 

Hi, just a quick question about supported resolutions. I wanted to know if the game will support 2560x1440?

Hmm... good question... makes me wonder if Starbound will also support my Good Computer's Res of 1920x1200...?

 

I'm only asking because i just ordered a 2560x1440 monitor that's due here tomorrow and i was gutted when i read terraria doesn't support it as i was going to break the monitor in with that game.

 

I believe it will support whatever resolution you want, since in some of the screenshots they had the game window stretched across two monitors. Basically, The higher your resolution, the more the game will show on the game screen.

By watching the streams it seems that some pieces of clothing that are not tightened to the body, such as skirts and capes, are animated, in that they billow as you run and jump. Will hairstyles, such as the ponytails and the long hair, receive the same treatment? Or will they be static?

 

someone asked this earlier and there is a picture of the the avatars moving and the pony tails weren't moving so I don't think they will unless they have added it in since then

Anyway, that being the case, I have another question: Will it be possible to change your character's appearance, hairstyle, color and such during the game, after character creation?

 

Tastycrumpet are mechs going to have customization like attachable weapons/tools, legs, engines, ect or are they going to be generated by the game?

 

Just wanted know if there will be a tutorial because the game is really advanced and just wanted to know?

 

What kind of melee Weapons will there be? And will there be NPC's?

 

All different kinds. Some will be procedurally generated. And yes, there will be lots of NPCs.

 

will there also be things like potions and magic? because I really like the concept, especially when the "mana" or Magic Power comes from an understandable source.

No. There will be energy to take the place of mana, to fit with the sci-fi theme of the game.

 

Can you do special things with that energy? like, i think i heard someone say it powers certain weapons, but are there abilities that don't require an item, like abilities you can learn?

 

No, everything in Starbound is equipment based.
