Your Questions

Along with the weather, gravity, and day-night cycles, do you plan on having assorted atmospheres(or a lack there of) throughout the planets? Maybe like while in certain ones without a helmet or gear, you would take damage or have some effect placed on you.

 

I have a few questions:

1. How truly big is the sandbox? While there has been plenty of info on planet size, I can only wonder how big the entire universe will be.
2. How much data will an end game save file have? If I have discovered 2,000 planets and all of them exist on my hard drive, just how big would that be?
3. Going from Single Player to Multiplayer, is it possible? If not, do we have to maintain different characters/worlds, ala Diablo II?

These may have been asked so my apologies if they have been.

• Will there be any defense modes? If we are to settle on a planet there must me some form of opposition on the planet. Some indigenous species that just doesn't want their land infringed upon.
• How upgradable are your bases? Customization is lovely and makes everything better.
• The brilliance about this type of game is there's so many available worlds and such to explore, form a planet with Cowboy aliens to barbaric Gorilla men. How many worlds are there going to be at release? just an estimates.
• How big are the worlds?
• Are there underground sections to the worlds?
• Bosses?
• Dungeons?
• Destructible Terrain?

 

will there be things like dungeon runs? kinda like WoW, but 2D

 

How often can you guys post Development pics?
When it comes out will it be on Steam?
Will release a demo?
Will you release a beta?
What are some community ideas you are already seeing that you think you will consider in the game?
Are these questions too annoying?
Do you like cream cheese?

 

Are the screenshots actual in-game screenshots, or are they mock ups?

I don't really want an answer from anyone besides a developer, unless you have a source.

 

somebody knows will developers are answer questions? or this is for our calm?

 

Will we have to mine for ore at the beginning, to get gear to fight the monsters, like Terraria?

 

Since there are plans to release on linux as well as the other platforms, will there be a stand-alone/dedicated linux server option? Will there be advanced controls like regions, protections, permission groups, and such?

 

The Devs do visit the forums often, so every now and then one will pop in and answer a question.

 

Totally serious questions:
How many Big Honkin' Space Guns can I hope to tote around in my pack, and will there be a point to carrying more than one?
What information/advantages can be expected from the logbook?

How will the game be in terms of updates?
Are you hoping to have a schedule for updates or will they be whenever you're finished with things?

On Topic: Will there be a firetruck and can I use the hose to flood the R&D lab/homeworld/hell because I can?

 

Will the game be extremely easy after you finish most of the content? Because, take Terraria (obviously): At the end of the game, you could pwn almost everything. Will this happen in Starbound? We all want the game challenging, no matter how far we are in the game, am I right? Also, is there mining, digging, and gathering materials in this game?

There will be worlds with a Level 100 difficulty, that will be dificult even for the end game characters, and yes, there'll be mining and crafting.
