Your personal goals for 1.0?

Here are my own goals but feel free to share your own no matter how large or minor they may be. For those with crazy projects in mind please add all of the juicy details. I love to hear how people play the game in ways I haven't even thought of before.

Short term goals:

• Complete every quest including the main story, all of the side quests and see how far colony quests can go.
• Reach endgame gear and crew the "legit" way (no hiring crew members, no buying ship upgrades, no buying ores, etc) with at least one character.
• Grow a decent size village that I personally can be proud of. Possibly with farm and other things as well.

Long term goals:

• Write a guide from start to finish for anybody who may need it. Mostly for self entertainment though.
• Collect every possible item and display all of them on a planet so new characters can quickly examine everything all at once.
• Collect all possible outfits and display them as well for fun and dressup options.
• Have a endgame character with every race. Possibly do it again with the other gender as well. Of course this will span across updates, maybe one new character per decent size update so I don't get burn out.

Once it is finally over goals:

• Play Frackin'Universe once it is updated to support 1.0 as Xylia won't shut up about it and seem to be amazing. Possibly add other mods as well.
• Maybe create a mod of my own to bring back the alloys in creative ways and uses. If nothing else learn the basic idea of modding.
• Finally decide which would I recommend over the other (even though they are two totally different games). Terraria or Starbound. Currently find Terraria more fun overall, hoping 1.0 will change that though.
• Wait for the Xbox One release so I can play with my irl bud and watch him experience Starbound for the first time when the time comes.
• Try to complete the game as a true pacifist, if impossible see if creating a mod for such is possible and hope the devs will slowly add such ideas into the game officially.
• Find an excuse to use the red panda smiley more often.

Basically:

Short term:

• Play through the entire story
• Build a nice colony to test all the new features, including, obviously, Fluffalo farms

Middle-Long term:

• Start a new character as soon as my favorite mods are compatible
• Build a huge colony and several bases
• Keep adding things to the colony and bases...

Rebuild Asgarden, bigger, better, on a nicer planet. More space. Better forests. Cooler underground. Get the Satellite of Love back in orbit.

Make the forest refugee compound based out of a former USCM prison of my dreams.

 

I read through your thread on that a while back, really looking forward to seeing it rebuilt.

 

Update all of my mods for Cheerful Giraffe compatibility.

 

Impressive. I always love people who go all out on their builds. It also sound like you do them completely legit, nice.

 

Build Coruscant. A full city planet, and I'm the landlord.

Build a shipyard in an asteroid field. Build an armada of ships.

Build a biological encyclopedia planet, with every tree and crop growing on display.

Find Eden. The perfect planet. Set as home planet. Build a home complex so grand, that it would even make a Floran cry.


Get a server going as the corporations used to go, and RP the universe into magnificent existence, with profits!


And all done within Frakin Universe, and whatever other mods will update along the way ( hopefully, Strambound and the Aldarian races collection)

 

My only goal isss waiting for it to come out. After that I'm jussst gonna go with the flow.

 

when it comes out. I'm not sure what I'll do. The asteroid zones are way too large for me to handle anything with them, if they were smaller like in koala i'd consider moving there again. Assuming they are still functioning, I'll keep my lava base from giraffe and cannibalize my asteroid apartments/farm/ship/houses into a new area. WHERE though is the problem.

Other than that, finding a better weapon than my rocket spear is going to be interesting. and I do want to try modding at some point, perhaps change the grunt sounds.

 

Start a new character and experience the joys of going through the game once more, now with a shiny new coat of paint!
Build colonies on every planet I visit, using solely native materials.
EXAMINE ALL THE THINGS.
Build a restaurant.

 

Main Goals:

1. Complete Story
2. Pimp out my ship and hope to come up with a name for it by then...
3. 100% whatever achievements there are.

Side Goals:

1. Find a decent planet to settle. Never been one for building great things, usually just a box for my and npcs to live in.. But will try to make a decent colony.
2. Find out how wiring works and all its confusing gates stuff... AKA try to build automated contraptions without blowing something up.
3. Read every codex log for lore.
4. And finally... Discover a way to eject my ship pet into the void of space.

 

Get ALL the vanity items!
Get ALL the instruments!
Get ALL unique weapons!
Complete the story!
Make a base that doesn't look like it was vomited out of a Poptop!
Deck out my ship instead of just spamming towers of cardboard boxes for storage!
Then mod the heck* out of it!
*No, not the biome. I want Heck back, not gone!
Then... I dunno. Stuff. Rinse and repeat?
Oh, maybe a Staff-only playthrough! That'd be neat, and now that there are random staffs, actually feasable!

 

I almost forgot there was achievements now. I will have to do that as well.

 

#1 Update my mod. I have a LOT of new stuff and I want to release it, but I'm waiting for 1.0.
#2 Beat the main story as Human, because HUMAN PRIDE, REMOVE DISGUSTING XENOS
#3 Enjoy some multiplayer with a friend who refuses to play the game until it's a real game. Early Access doesn't count as a real game to him (Or me, for that matter)
#4 Move on to the next flavor of the month game and probably forget Starbound ever existed, since the wait is finally over and I'll probably exhaust everything to do in one week or less (My job is literally to sit at home and collect money, so I have a lot of free time)

Actually, also on my list is a long string of costume and decor mods to throw in. Nothing super fancy or game-changing, but fun.

 

I personally want to do some good creative works. I want to make a ship with a coherent theme, hylotl themed ship for example. Also going to look into building and the like, maybe even modding.

 

At least one colony in every system I visit.

 

My biggest goal for 1.0 is surviving until it gets released.
