From Left to Right Potter, Blacksmith, Carpenter, Stone Mason, Glassmith, Weaver Note that its not all decorated yet. I am slowly adding stuff based on what roles are filled. Thus no cloth items were added until the weaver was put in. And no glass windows were put in before the Glassmith. There is a sewer system below too. And with green haired Stone Mason spawned a twin so I may make her sewer worker or something. There are also some holes in my set up such as we have no food source, or water hooked up. When I have explored this type of playing a bit more I may write up the for a Starbound Challenge game where you limit how you build your base, like this.
My base. I built it with wood but it got hit with an asteroid so I rebuilt it again with the asteroid material. Anyway I'm in love with this game I can't stop playing it.
Floran make house from ssstone box Floran found on planet. Ssstole thingss from Glitch to make house bigger....
This is my base, took over a apex lab may have a little too many turrets, and to make it worse im on a level 10 world so all they do is annoy the wild life i did have about eight guards, but i had to let them go (accidentally hit one with a shot gun, total blood bath)
So I eventually found a pirate ship just above my spawn point, naturally I had to make that planet my homeworld, and have been prettying it up ever since. ...That, and floranifying it.
So we made new characters and after discovering we could make candy blocks, we slaughtered the local wildlife almost into extinction in order to celebrate with our collected holiday spirits! This became our starting house for our new characters (with our Santa's Little Workshop below) Oh and the weird slush-buidling next to Santa is the spawn point :'3
I've made an attempt at an underground house and it actually worked quite well. The big caves deep Underground provide plenty of building space, getting down is easy (notice the pool of water at the ground of the entrance shaft to the right) and there even don't spawn that much monsters, after you start building (my theory is, that monsters don't spawn near or on non natural blocks like refined wood or the sandstone bricks of my house).
Not finished yet, if you have some decorations ideas, tell me! If the pic doesn't display correctly, original link: http://www.noelshack.com/2014-01-1388602810-2014-01-01-00003.jpg
Lost my base on a corrupted universe file, im still rebuilding it, lots of work to do still. its complete with a hidden torture room
I have to admit, I've spent more time working on wiring systems for this house than the house itself. There's a couple mods out there now that open up some cool wiring options, like disappearing blocks when a mob walks near a proximity sensor, etc. Here's a pic of the house, with and without the wiring. The wiring on the very top is a light sensor that turns on my turret grid at nighttime.
Junking the game for about a week now... So damn good! Good thing its holyday time atm: D This is what ive build.... Next project is a skygrind from the spawn to there. Its quite far away from the spawn point: (
