There's always something new to build! I see this as practice for the super mega uber base in the final game. Btw:
My first home on this character...first one I ever put much thought into. I wish we could craft more building materials. I only scav people that attack me. Hehehe.
According to my Human, when she's looking at it, it's "Cool, a relaxing water feature.". But jeah, I'm still a terrible person.
Too bad avian towns with those big nice fountains are so hard to find, that would look so cool in your garden.
I would like to know if everyone is mining the materials to make their homes/bases or if there is a creative mode or cheat.
I mine them (or make some of them, like titan panels or so). There isn't currently a creative mode, but there are some mods that ad it.
My words exactly! ... Wait a moment... He said right section. Where the cells and rooms for the "enhanced interrogation techniques" are. Did that mean, he didn't noticed the chains over the beds in the commanders quarters to the left which are the ones for the little kinky fun?
Well, pre-wipe I set my homeworld up on a little jungle planet in the gamma sector, and made a decent fortification on it. I come back post-wipe, see that it's gone, but hey, I knew it was coming. Problem is? That world had meteor swarms, and I got instagibbed on the first night of building my new base and had to watch the foundation get absolutely wrecked. After that, I found a new jungle world in the Delta Sector that lacked the meteor problem. Granted, I only found an arid or maybe desert world with Glowing Rain after that, but still. http://cloud-2.steampowered.com/ugc/505826277504302240/CEE81CB9721DE9E8AD407409B1D6AFAA4B3455E5/ Well, it's not even the whole thing, just the unfinishined living quarters and a bit of the kitchen. I can take more screencaps, or maybe figure out how to take screenshots that cover more area because there's a fair bit there. As for why there's a button by the door that leads out, that's because I came into this game with a very Terrarian mindset in that the best way to keep your villagers out of danger is just to lock them up where the monsters can't get them. Other parts of the base include a small greenhouse garden, an open-air tree farm, a arrival-departure area, and on the far left side of my base there's another small bunker to give it two ways out. Maybe I'll grab the rest of the pics sometime, I need to finish furnishing the place anyway.
to make Screenshots that cover more area you can reduce the zoom factor in the options menu (3x is the standard resolution 2x the widest option (and there is a post in this sub-forum, how to show an even bigger area) and/or use paint or another program to puzzle many small screenshots together.
Well, a new wipe at Christmas, so I've got a new home! The small Building in the lower right corner is the entrance area with an air lock and the teleporter-pad where you arrive when you beam down from the ship. Crossing the bridge you enter the main complex in the lobby (I'm thinking of redoing it a bit, make it more like a trophy gallery). Above the lobby is the crafting and storing area and on top of that the great greenhouse, whee most of my crops grow (as you can see for yourself). In the top right corner are the living quarters. Leaving the main complex to the left, you come in to the garden, with trees and some color-maching flowers. Even farther to the left you find the sickbay, including a cooled storage room with gimmicks like an extra body (Grow them beforehand and after you die you can come back from the death even faster!
