    Campaigner Giant Laser Beams

I beamed down onto a meteor biome. Normal stuff, went about my merry way. Then, I had an idea; build a large "landing pad" with dirt and trees on top, space station below. Kinda like a floating island. I terraformed so many asteroids in a huge radius that I had 20 full stacks of meteorite rock, among other blocks. Using the plethora of pixels I had, I made tons of light steel and wall panels, and began making a base. I had a simple one started, but my giant island platform was good to go. I just needed dirt, so I went out and looked for normal, brown dirt. I succeeded, got 2000 dirt, and went back to the asteroid field.

It beamed me inside the rock. Like, I was in the middle of rocks, unable to move unless I drilled out. Turns out that, no matter what, your starting beam down location NEVER changes. I went to another planet, dug a path down, beamed back up, beamed down to the EXACT spot I was before, and fell to my death.

My asteroid home looks like garbage now, but I put too much work into it to not keep using it.

    Lord Kain Ketchup Robot

Beamed right into a floran house. She was very confused.

  3. Veran

    Veran Scruffy Nerf-Herder

beamed down ontop of the roof of a glitch villagers house, in the middle of two murderbots guarding a chest, inside the house of a lone avian and several times right next to minibosses.
    the joys of random spawnpoints!

  4. Beamed down right into some mini boss gathering, there were 2 mini bosses on my left and 3 on the right.
    Not. Fun.

spawned a new char right inside of a huge pyramid-like glitch compound with a really extensive underground all submerged in lava, all sorts of machines and electrified security barriers, and the defenders were really slow and zombie like even though the planet apparently has low grav, also they were all painted bright pink for some reason. really surprising and convenient first base.

  6. Vexil

    Vexil Intergalactic Tourist

Beamed down directly upon a Theif camp on my third planet with my nearly naked character. Needless to say, it wasn't very pleasent. After I disposed of them, I found a Avian temple dungeon thingy, so everything wasn't that bad.

I had JUST gotten to X sector, so I did my usual: Find the nearest level 10 planet and hope I can scavenge some badass weapons from unguarded surface chests. Unfortunately for me, my chosen level 10 planet had a bandit camp JUST to the right of the spawn point, which itself was in a sunken depression. So, as soon as I go right, the bandits all see me and start shooting at my inadequately protected self. Like an idiot, I ran back to the spawn point hoping to get rid of them, but they just followed me back, and then got stuck in the depression below the spawn point. So now it's impossible for me to even go to that world because I have 3 LV10 bandits sitting RIGHT at the spawn point. I did try, for a little bit, to see if it was possible to spawn in, lead them away, and then teleport out, but no, it's an insta-gib fest every single time.:cry::cry:

Weirdest thing was, it sort of elicited a bugged reaction from the game, because instead of dying and re-appearing on the ship, I'd die and re-appear on the planet's surface again, where I'd be murdered so fast the screen never even had time to display my toon, the planet, or the bandits. This happened about 10 times in a row until I figured out I could hit ESC and do a Save & Quit.

I've noticed it doing the spawn on the planet instead of ship thing a few times too with the most recent patch.

  10. VakarisJ

    VakarisJ Contact!

I beamed down into a pool of lava on a level 10 planet. A miniboss was standing at the closest edge.

  11. niian

    niian Tentacle Wrangler

Beamed down on a moon I was orbiting before Angry Koala came out, and I didn't read the patch notes. Suddenly there was no atmosphere and instead of my house I rant into a miniboss.

    CharredSkull Space Hobo

Well for me I just started the game for the very first time and beam down into a pool of poisonous water... great way to be introduced into the game xD

Well, this was my first time i ran into a snow biome unprepared... Well, i was looking for a desert biome (another story) and i came across my first snow biome. I was excited for no reason so i wasted a ton of coal to get there. Once i spawned in there was a million mobs around me but that wasn't thew problem. I then realised what that bar was on the bottom because it was the tempeture meter... And... well... short story later, i know know to keep torches with me next time i go to a snow biome. Although, i came back another day and found the snowman and a apex facility (abandoned) . So i Be-ith happy :3

    FLOknows Subatomic Cosmonaut

First planet visted. Beamed down right in the middle of a bunch of ninja/pirate type things that promptly slaughtered me with assault rifles.

  15. DasFohlen

    DasFohlen Void-Bound Voyager

I think the weirdest thing I saw after beaming down was a tentacle planet with acid seas everywhere, meteor showers and after about 130 blocks to each side damn high cliffs or something like that, made entirely out of dire stone.

  16. The Demon of Borders

The Demon of Borders King Homestuck 4.13

First planet I spawned on with a character was in the middle of an Agaran (mushroom folk) village. They were pretty cool and didn't mind my presence at all. Got to see some rainbow rain too.

  17. DasFohlen

    DasFohlen Void-Bound Voyager

And the most dangerous one was some time ago: Some standard forest planet with normal water but after 300-400 blocks everything was made out of blaststone with lava seas and the it started to rain magma but I believe it was a bug because the skybox and some other textures flickered crazy while it was raining...

  18. ReverendBonobo

    ReverendBonobo Hard-To-Destroy Reptile

Made a new character, and beamed down to my starting planet - right inside an Avian tomb with three guys shooting at me. It took me five respawns to kill those bastards.

Once I beamed down into... AN AVIAN HOUSE :O!!!!!
    ...
Yeah, I haven't played Starbound enough to get any cool beam down moments. I've only been to about 4 planets so far on my singeplayer universe. If I wasn't holding off on playing until the next update, I would probably have gone to a lot more by now.

Recently beamed down inside an apex facility, the one that contains the matter machine. Thing was, I was hitting the E key as I arrived activating the machine... Just before that I had swapped out of my Raven armor (Avian Tier 10) for my winter gear since I was exploring asteroids... Suffice to say the matter machine gave me a nice warm welcome.
